Senior Systems & DevOps Engineer (Windows & Azure)

Latin America | 100% Remote

About CodeRoad

CodeRoad provides end-to-end software development services, helping businesses scale with ideal infrastructure solutions. From staff augmentation to dedicated IT teams and general software engineering, our nearshore technology services empower businesses to thrive in an ever-evolving digital landscape.

About the Role

As a Senior Systems & DevOps Engineer at CodeRoad, you will anchor the management, release management, and continuous optimization of enterprise Windows Server and Microsoft Azure environments. In this role, you will bridge the gap between software development PODs and infrastructure operations, managing reliable CI/CD pipelines and taking ownership of deployment automation, IIS application hosting, and system administration.

This role is critical to eliminating deployment bottlenecks, ensuring uptime, and driving engineering speed with confidence. By managing build/deployment systems (TeamCity/Octopus Deploy), automating Windows configurations via PowerShell, and supporting cloud integration, your work will directly impact the performance, scalability, and operational excellence of our clients core software products.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage Windows & Web Infrastructure: Administer, configure, and troubleshoot Windows Server environments and Internet Information Services (IIS) web applications to ensure maximum uptime and performance.
  • Build & Release Automation: Maintain and optimize automated CI/CD pipelines using TeamCity (or similar CI engines) and Octopus Deploy for streamlined application releases.
  • Scripting & Automation: Author, maintain, and execute comprehensive PowerShell scripts for system administration, configuration management, and repetitive deployment tasks.
  • Package Management: Support development teams with enterprise artifact and package management workflows (NuGet, npm, pnpm).
  • Cloud Operations & Monitoring: Assist in managing and monitoring cloud-hosted components in Microsoft Azure, focusing on messaging services (Azure Service Bus) and serverless applications (Azure Functions).
  • Troubleshooting & Support: Act as a escalation point for build failures, environment outages, IIS deployment issues, and cross-team operational blockers.

Requirements

Essential Skills & Experience

  • PowerShell Mastery: Advanced scripting capabilities for Windows Server administration, IIS configuration, and deployment automation.
  • Windows Server Management: Strong background in enterprise Windows Server system administration and operations.
  • IIS Expertise: Hands-on experience configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting IIS web servers and hosted Web APIs/applications.
  • CI/CD Tools: Demonstrated experience managing build processes in TeamCity (or equivalent CI platforms like Jenkins/Bamboo).
  • Release Management: Hands-on experience with automated deployment platforms, ideally Octopus Deploy.

Professional & Soft Skills

  • 5+ years of professional experience in Systems Engineering, DevOps, or Release Engineering roles.
  • Soft Skills: Extreme ownership mindset, strong troubleshooting instincts, and proactive cross-team collaboration.
  • Language Proficiency: Advanced English proficiency (written and spoken, C1+ equivalent required for daily client collaboration).

Nice to Have

  • Experience creating and optimizing Azure DevOps pipelines.
  • Hands-on experience with package managers (NuGet, npm, pnpm).
  • Familiarity with Azure cloud deployments, serverless architecture (Azure Functions), and messaging services (Azure Service Bus).
  • Active Microsoft certifications (e.g., Azure Administrator Associate or Windows Server certifications).

What You’ll Love

  • 100% Remote: Work comfortably from anywhere in Latin America.
  • Holidays Off: Enjoy local standard holidays alongside your core time off.
  • Paid Time Off (PTO): Dedicated vacation days and personal time off.
  • Health Insurance Assistance: Financial support toward your health coverage.
  • Competitive USD Compensation: Earn stable, market-competitive pay in U.S. Dollars.
  • Growth Opportunities: Access continuous learning resources, certifications, and career advancement paths.
