• Understand business and technical requirements and convert them into detailed test scenarios.
• Create and execute functional, integration, regression, exploratory and end-to-end tests.
• Test positive, negative, boundary, permission and failure scenarios.
• Identify regression impact and define appropriate smoke and regression coverage.
• Participate in requirement and technical-design discussions.
• Raise clear defects with impact, evidence, reproduction steps and expected behaviour.

• Build and maintain UI and API automation using Cypress.
• Validate APIs, backend services, databases and third-party integrations.
• Validate complex workflows involving multiple services.
• Test asynchronous processes such as queues, events, webhooks and batch jobs.
• Investigate failures using API responses, application logs, browser tools and AWS monitoring.
• Maintain reliable test data, environment configuration and cleanup processes.

• Integrate automated tests with CI/CD pipelines.
• Review automated-test results and troubleshoot pipeline failures.
• Support release validation, production smoke testing and incident investigation.
• Clearly communicate testing progress, blockers and release risks.
• Contribute to improving QA processes, automation standards and release quality.

• Work closely with developers, product managers, DevOps engineers and other QA team members.

• Strong experience in API and backend testing.
• Ability to validate REST APIs, JSON payloads, schemas, headers, status codes and error responses.
• Understanding of authentication and authorization concepts such as JWT, OAuth, roles, permissions and scopes.
• Experience testing microservices and distributed applications.
• Understanding of asynchronous processing, retries, timeouts, duplicate handling and failure recovery.

• Strong hands-on experience in UI and API automation using Cypress.
• Strong knowledge of JavaScript or TypeScript.
• Experience building and maintaining reusable Cypress automation frameworks.
• Experience with Cypress intercepts, fixtures, custom commands, sessions, environment configuration and reporting.
• Ability to investigate flaky tests and improve automation reliability.

• Working knowledge of SQL and NoSQL database validation.
• Good knowledge of Git, branching, merge requests and code-review practices.
• Experience integrating Cypress automation with CI/CD tools such as GitLab CI, GitHub Actions or Jenkins.

• Strong understanding of smoke, functional, integration, contract, regression and end-to-end testing.
• Basic understanding of performance, security and data-privacy testing.

• Practical exposure to AWS and ability to investigate issues using relevant services, including:

  • API Gateway
  • CloudWatch
  • DynamoDB
  • RDS
  • S3
  • SNS
  • SQS
  • Kinesis
  • IAM roles and permissions
• Experience testing serverless or event-driven applications is preferred.

• Familiarity with AI-assisted development and testing.
• Ability to use AI for requirement analysis, test-case generation, identifying edge cases, automation support and documentation.
• Understanding that AI-generated output must be reviewed and validated before use.
• Awareness of security and data-privacy considerations when using AI tools.
• Familiarity with Claude and Cursor will be an added advantage.

• 5+ years of hands-on QA and automation experience.
• Strong experience in API and backend testing.
• Strong hands-on experience with Cypress automation.
• Strong knowledge of JavaScript or TypeScript.
• Experience building and maintaining reusable automation frameworks.
• Experience testing REST APIs, microservices and distributed applications.
• Working knowledge of SQL and NoSQL database validation.
• Experience with Git and CI/CD integration.
• Strong understanding of functional, integration, regression and end-to-end testing.
• Strong troubleshooting and root-cause-analysis skills.
• Ability to take end-to-end ownership of quality.

• Experience in fintech, payments, banking, SaaS or transaction-heavy applications.
• Experience testing payment methods, transactions, refunds, customer journeys, webhooks or authorization flows.
• Experience working in Agile teams with frequent deployments.
• Exposure to performance-testing tools.
• Exposure to Docker.
• Practical experience with AWS services.
• Familiarity with Claude and Cursor.
• Experience using AI-assisted testing and automation tools.
