Your OpportunityStantec’s Infrastructure team is looking for a Traffic Planning and Traffic Engineering (TPTE) Lead to join our Prairies and Territories Infrastructure Business Center. In this leadership role, you will help develop, manage, and grow our TPTE practice while supporting the delivery of transportation planning, traffic engineering, transportation safety, and multimodal transportation projects across Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta, Yukon, Northwest Territories, and Nunavut.
Reporting to the Operations Lead, you will play a key role in building trusted relationships, supporting a collaborative and blended-team approach to project delivery, and helping our people grow through coaching, mentorship, and career development. This is an opportunity for a collaborative, client-focused leader who is passionate about technical excellence, people leadership, and strengthening our transportation practice across Western and Northern Canada.
Your Key Responsibilities- Lead, develop, manage, and grow the TPTE team across the Prairies and Territories in alignment with Infrastructure’s strategic direction and business priorities.
- Support supervisors and business leaders with recruitment, retention, workload planning, staff development, and assignment of qualified team members to Infrastructure and other BOU projects.
- Promote a culture of collaboration, technical excellence, accountability, inclusion, and high-quality project delivery.
- Provide coaching, mentorship, and career development support to direct reports and team members, including performance guidance, goal setting, and development planning.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships and support business development, marketing, proposals, and pursuit strategies for key transportation opportunities.
- Lead and support transportation planning, traffic engineering, transportation safety, and multimodal transportation projects across multiple jurisdictions.
- Contribute to project delivery in assigned project roles, including discipline lead responsibilities, project execution planning, quality management, schedule and budget performance, and coordination with multidisciplinary teams.
- Collaborate with Business Center leadership, other leads, project controls, team leads, and practice leaders to identify priorities, develop future project managers and leaders, and support effective project management practices.
- Support workload forecasting, resource planning, backlog management, and utilization planning for team members.
- Facilitate team meetings and regular communication to promote employee engagement, continuous improvement, technical growth, and shared success.
- Champion Stantec’s Health, Safety, Security, and Environment culture and ensure HSSE remains a priority in all activities.
- Support and promote quality management, risk management, technical reviews, QA/QC processes, and continuous improvement of design standards, procedures, and delivery practices.
