About the role

As a Data Analytics Manager, you won’t have to choose between leading people and staying close to technology. You will combine people leadership with functional analytics leadership, developing a team of Data Analysts while remaining technically close enough to shape how analytics is built across Redcare.

This is a growth hire within our wider Data & AI organization. Our analysts work in a matrix setup across cross-functional Data Product teams alongside Product Managers, Data Engineers, Forward Deployed Engineers, DataOps and other specialists.

While Product Managers drive product vision, priorities and stakeholder alignment, you will focus on developing the people, capabilities and analytical standards required to deliver scalable, high-quality Data & Analytics solutions.

You will therefore play an important role in strengthening Data Analytics as a function while helping our people grow and succeed across different Data Product teams.

Job Description

Our tech stack

Databricks • SQL • Power BI • Microsoft Fabric • Azure Cloud • dbt • Python • AI-assisted development • Tabular Models • Power BI Service

About your tasks

  • Lead and develop a team of Data Analytics professionals, owning coaching, regular check-ins, performance management, competency development, career conversations, annual reviews, training and certification planning.
  • Provide functional and technical leadership across our Data Product teams, staying close to delivery, challenging analytical approaches and acting as a sparring partner for complex analytics, data modelling and BI topics.
  • Stay technically hands-on where your expertise adds value, contributing to selected analytics initiatives, solving complex data challenges and supporting your team with Senior Data Analyst-level expertise without taking over their day-to-day delivery responsibilities.
  • Shape Data Analytics as a capability, establishing and evolving standards, best practices and ways of working across analytics engineering, data modelling, Power BI, self-service analytics and AI-assisted development.
  • Work in partnership with Product Managers and Data Engineering leadership in our matrix organization. Product Managers drive the product roadmap and business priorities, while you ensure that the right people, skills, technical quality and development environment are in place to deliver successfully.
  • Help scale our Analytics organization, partnering with the Director Data on workforce planning, recruiting, screening, onboarding and the development of internal and external talent.
  • Create an environment where people can grow, ensuring your team has the clarity, feedback, support and opportunities required to continuously strengthen both technical expertise and business-domain knowledge.

Qualifications

About you

  • You bring a strong hands-on Data Analytics or Analytics Engineering background, with technical capabilities comparable to a Senior Data Analyst and a strong understanding of SQL, data modelling, BI and modern analytics architectures.
  • You have experience working with modern cloud analytics platforms. Experience with Databricks, Power BI/Microsoft Fabric and the Microsoft Azure ecosystem is highly beneficial, but we also value strong experience with comparable modern data and analytics technologies.
  • You bring proven people-management experience, ideally 3+ years leading Data Analytics, Analytics Engineering or comparable technical teams, including coaching, performance management, hiring, feedback and career development.
  • You understand data, analytics and data modelling beyond the technology itself and bring experience in at least one relevant business or data domain, allowing you to understand the business context behind the data.
  • You are comfortable leading people in a matrix organization, where team members contribute to different Data Product teams and leadership requires influence, coaching and alignment rather than direct ownership of every delivery priority.
  • You enjoy working at the intersection of people, business and technology and want a leadership position where developing others does not mean completely stepping away from technology.
  • You communicate confidently with technical and non-technical stakeholders and are comfortable challenging existing approaches while creating alignment around better solutions.
  • You are comfortable working remotely within Germany with monthly presence in Cologne. Travel expenses related to these anchor days are fully reimbursed.
