Senior Engineering Manager, Infrastructure + Developer Productivity

We are looking for a Senior Engineering Manager to lead the Infrastructure & Developer Productivity teams, which are responsible for Patreon’s core infrastructure, developer productivity, and AI enablement. The team’s mission is to keep Patreons engineering org fast, and reliable, and ready for an AI-native way of building software.

This role location is open to fully Remote or to those who are able to be in-office 3 days per week on a hybrid work model in New York or San Francisco.

About the Team

Youll own the roadmap and execution across infrastructure and developer productivity. Balancing keep the site up reliability work with make every engineer faster investment — including Patreons push to make AI-assisted development a durable part of how the org ships code.

About the Role

  • Manage and grow ICs; own hiring, performance, and career development for your org.

  • Own operational excellence: observability standards, on-call structure, incident response, SLAs/SLOs, and Production Readiness Reviews (PRR).

  • Partner closely with Product Engineering, Security, and Data leaders so infrastructure and tooling decisions dont become a bottleneck for product delivery

  • Drive the orgs AI-enablement strategy — deciding where to standardize tooling/workflows and where to let teams choose their own path

About You

  • Required:

    • 10+ years of engineering experience, including 5+ years in engineering management, ideally with experience managing managers or senior ICs across multiple teams

    • Direct experience leading infrastructure, platform, or developer-productivity teams supporting a consumer product at scale

    • Familiarity with cloud infrastructure (AWS/GCP), Kubernetes, and infrastructure-as-code tooling

    • Comfort operating scalable production systems with high availability and performance requirements

    • Strong cross-functional partnership skills; youll work daily with Product Engineering, Security, and Data leads

  • Nice to Have

    • Experience standing up or scaling developer tooling (CI/CD, testing platforms, internal dev environments)

    • Exposure to AI-assisted software development. Direct experience rolling out AI coding tools/agents at an organizational level, including adoption metrics and guardrails.

The posted salary range is dependent on the location and the level. This range may encompass multiple levels within the role’s job family. The final offer will be based on candidate’s experience, skills, competencies, and geographic location, aligning with the appropriate job level within Patreon’s leveling framework. For remote employees located outside CA and NY, salary may vary based on location and local market conditions.
