This opening is in Motorola Solutions’ Global Enterprise Strategic Accounts Presale Engineering group, and is focused on customers across Utility/Rail, Energy (Oil & Gas), and strategic Corporate and Retail Account customer verticals.

Job Description

The Presale Solutions Engineer partners closely with customers and the Sales team, delivering customer driven, world-class, leading-edge, end-to-end solutions that rise to the challenges of Global Enterprise Strategic Accounts customers. Working within a team of sales, service, engineering, and technical support resources, the Presale Solutions Engineer is the overall owner of a solution’s technical design, ensuring we meet our customers’ needs.

The engineering team supports the entire ecosystem and concentrates on the following mission-critical technologies at various levels of complexity:

• Critical communications mobile broadband networks and devices
• Critical communications mobile voice and data networks and devices
• Integrated command and control software solutions
• Mobile and fixed video solutions
• Business continuity/resiliency and mass notification applications
• Cybersecurity

Responsibilities:

• Gathering technical and voice of customer requirements
• Solution design development for infrastructure, devices, backhaul, network and applications
• Deployment, implementation, migration and/or cutover planning
• Design, develop, maintain and manage portable Ecosystem demonstration kits tailored to Global Enterprise Strategic Accounts verticals
• Partner with Sales to deliver customer presentations, demonstrations and pilots
• Participate in Sales strategy, system integration and competitive intelligence engagement
• Engage with global Product organizations to promote business development and provide Sales and customer support

Qualifications:

• Bachelors Degree in Engineering, preferably Electrical or Computer Engineering
• Experience with wireless communications fundamentals and voice/data architectures - both public and private (e.g. APCO P25, DMR, TETRA, LTE, 802.11, 3GPP 4G/5G, FirstNet/Frontline) - highly desirable
• Experience with Cloud (AWS, Azure, etc.), IP networking architecture, protocols and security - highly desirable
• Knowledge of RF coverage predictions, microwave design, traffic/capacity modeling, and related toolsets an asset
• Familiarity with both fixed and mobile video solutions
• Must show attention to detail and have a flawless execution mindset

Location/Travel:

• Must be willing to travel 50% - 75% of the time
• Must be located nearby a major airport

Target Base Salary Range: $90,000 - $100,000 USD
