Your Role and Impact

The Director of Engineering will lead HYPR’s engineering organization. You will be responsible for developing and driving technology vision, strategy, and execution of the HYPR Platform. The Director of Engineering role reports to our CTO. In this unique and highly strategic role, the person will work very closely with engineering leaders and distinguished engineers to define and execute our HYPR platform. This hybrid role is based out of HYPRs New York City headquarters located conveniently in midtown Manhattan. 

Key Responsibilities

• Own responsibility for security, reliability and performance of HYPR’s product, including tracking, monitoring, and acting on the quality, stability, and performance of HYPR’s product
• Work closely with Product Management and Engineering Managers to you to drive decisions on roadmap, technology choices, and engineering process
• Implement systems and processes that drive efficiency and quality
• Champion collaboration across the engineering, product management and product design teams to deliver high-quality, scalable services
• Develop and expand talent through effective mentoring, coaching, succession planning, and retention strategies

Requirements 

• 10+ years of software engineering or related experience, including experience leading a team of software engineers
• Experience working in an environment delivering B2B client-centric services
• Passionate about analyzing and solving deep technical challenges
• Track record of building high-functioning teams and attracting, developing, and retaining top talent
• Worked with product and business stakeholders on large initiatives
• Demonstrated success building culture of innovation, ownership, and accountability
• Exceptional communicator and collaborator: can contribute to direction with management and effectively implement within the team

Note:

This position is hybrid - at least 2-3 days a week at our NYC office.

Base Salary: $200,000 - $250,000 + Variable

Our salary ranges are based on paying competitively for our size and industry, and are one part of our total compensation package that also includes meaningful equity, benefits, and other opportunities at HYPR. Individual pay decisions are based on a number of factors, including qualifications for the role, experience level, skillset, and balancing internal equity relative to other HYPRions. We expect the majority of the candidates who are offered roles at HYPR to fall healthily throughout the range based on these factors.
