Payment Risk & Anti-Fraud Specialist

Why this role exists:

This role exists to protect our financial flows and optimize payment health in real time. You’ll help us minimize fraud exposure and operational friction by owning end-to-end payment processing analysis, deposit/withdrawal risk decisions, and transaction monitoring.

What you’ll drive:

Risk Analysis & Transactional Decision-Making

• Analyze full transactional flows across deposits, withdrawals, and payment histories to spot anomalies, suspicious behavior, and operational errors.
• Review high-value and high-risk transactions in real time, making firm, evidence-based approve/decline decisions to control financial exposure.
• Identify payment fraud indicators, potential chargeback risks, payment method abuse, and mismatches between deposit sources and withdrawal destinations.

Operational Execution & Case Management

• Investigate complex payment cases involving failed, pending, unusual, or declined transactions across various payment methods.
• Manage multiple urgent cases simultaneously, using risk severity and potential financial impact to set priorities.
• Maintain clear, structured, and audit-ready documentation for all reviewed cases, decisions, and risk actions.

System Optimization & Feedback

• Distinguish root causes quickly among genuine payment fraud, platform configuration gaps, gateway technical failures, or provider-side issues.
• Identify operational friction, missing rules, or system logic gaps and submit structured feedback to improve risk tool setups.
• Respond immediately to operational spikes and risk incidents without sacrificing accuracy or thoroughness.

Stakeholder & Cross-Team Collaboration

• Communicate transactional findings, decisions, and necessary interventions clearly to Finance, Support, Tech, and Fraud teams.
• Follow cases through to full resolution, taking clear ownership and escalating complex scenarios promptly when higher authorization is required.

Must-have:

• 1+ years of hands-on experience in payment operations, transaction monitoring, billing, fraud prevention, or risk operations (FinTech/iGaming/E-commerce).
• Practical knowledge of transactional risk analysis, deposit/withdrawal flows, transaction statuses, and chargeback exposure.
• Proven experience working with alert-based risk consoles, analytical tools, or payment back-office systems in high-volume environments.
• Strong ability to multitask and prioritize urgent, high-value alerts based on financial impact.
• Decisive judgment with the confidence to execute fast, high-stakes decisions under pressure.
• Clear cross-team communication skills to explain complex risk rationale concisely.
• Upper-Intermediate English level for clear, structured cross-team communication and audit documentation.
• Readiness to work in a rotating shift schedule, including night shifts.

Nice-to-have:

• Experience working with alternative payment methods (APMs) and crypto payment rails across different regions.
• Understanding of basic SQL or advanced Excel/data tools for quick pattern searching.
• Prior experience dealing with payment service providers (PSPs) and acquiring banks directly.
