Job description:

Job title: Supervisor, Warehouse, Yard

Site: Kansanshi

Department: Commercial

Section: Warehouse, Process (S3)

Position reports to: Superintendent, Warehouse

Grade: 15

Purpose

To supervise all stockyard activities including binning, picking, issuing, stock counts, handling of material and movement/utilisation of equipment in an efficient and safe manner.

Key Responsibilities

This position will be required to adhere to all relevant requirements, policies, procedures and legal regulations pertaining to health, safety, environment and quality, as well as finance, human resources, and any other regulations as required by the company and relevant to the level of the role and responsibilities of the function.

• Supervising and coordinating of yard activities.
• Ensure picking, checking and dispatching of end user orders and requirements.
• Ensure prestart check lists are done on all warehouse forklifts and trucks.
• Ensure proper storage of stock in the stock yards to avoid weather damage.
• Maintain a safe and clean environment within all areas of control.
• Ensure bin locations for new stock codes for yard items are promptly updated in the system.
• Resolve stock yard queries and stock discrepancies in a timely manner.
• Review work performance of yard personnel regularly.
• Ensure stocks preservation is done regularly on critical components in all yard areas.

• Perform any other tasks as may be delegated by the supervisor.

Qualifications

•All academic qualifications and results must be verified by the Zambia Qualifications Authority (ZAQA).

• Grade 12 School Certificate
• CIPS Certificate Level 5 or higher
• Bachelor’s degree in a commercial/technical discipline
• Member of ZIPS

Experience

• 4 years of relevant work experience in a supply chain field
• Experience in supervising warehouse operations
• Experience in driving and achieving of operational goals.
• Experience in Forklift Operation.
