Engineer – Loads and Analytics R&D

Location: ROEDKAERSBRO, VIBORG, Denmark; Hybrid

As an Engineer Loads & Analytics R&D, you will support the development, validation, and continuous improvement of wind turbine technologies through engineering analysis, simulation, and data-driven insights. You will work with operational data, analytical tools, and engineering methodologies to evaluate turbine performance, investigate technical challenges, and contribute to product reliability and innovation. 

 
In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:
 
  • Perform engineering investigations using simulations, measurements, and operational data to identify and resolve technical issues related to wind turbine performance and loads.
  • Develop and apply analytical methods to evaluate turbine behavior, validate product requirements, and support engineering decisions across large data sets.
  • Support the development and maintenance of simulation models, optimization tools, and automated workflows used for design verification and performance assessment.
  • Analyze operational and measurement data to generate insights that improve turbine reliability, performance, and engineering efficiency.
  • Develop and maintain software tools and engineering solutions using programming languages such as Python, MATLAB, or similar technologies.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by enhancing engineering methodologies, validation processes, and data-driven decision-making practices.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to communicate technical findings and support the execution of engineering projects. 

 
Who You Are:
 
You are an analytical and detail-oriented engineer who enjoys solving complex technical challenges using both engineering principles and data-driven approaches. You are comfortable working with large data sets, simulations, and software tools, while collaborating effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders. You are motivated by continuous learning, innovation, and contributing to sustainable energy solutions. 

 
For This Role, You Will Need:
 
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in mechanical engineering, Energy Engineering, Software Engineering, Data Science, or a related engineering discipline.
  • Minimum 2 years of engineering or product development experience.
  • Experience with simulation, modeling, and engineering data analysis.
  • To develop and maintain engineering software tools, automated workflows, and analysis solutions using MATLAB, Python or similar. 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret technical and operational data.
  • Effective communication skills and professional proficiency in English, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams. 

 
Preferred Qualifications That Set You Apart:
 
  • Experience in wind energy, renewable energy systems, or related industries.
  • Knowledge of wind turbine functionality, structural loads, performance analysis, and operational behavior.
  • Experience working with wind turbine simulation tools, turbine fleet operation, measurements, and simulation data.
  • Understanding statistical analysis, uncertainty assessment, and data-driven verification methodologies.
  • Familiarity with machine learning applications within engineering and analytics environments.
  • Experience developing scalable engineering tools, automation workflows, or digital engineering solutions.
