Director, Individual Dental Operations
Position Summary
The Director, Individual Dental Operations is the senior leader responsible for the overall operational performance, customer experience, regulatory compliance, and strategic execution of the Individual Dental business. This role oversees core operations, customer service, operational effectiveness, vendor governance, and portfolio management, ensuring scalable operations, exceptional service, and successful delivery of business initiatives. The Director partners across Product, Technology, Finance, Sales, Marketing, Legal, Compliance, and Enterprise Operations to drive growth, operational excellence, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead end-to-end business operations, ensuring operational readiness, execution excellence, and strong customer outcomes.
- Oversee enrollment, billing, claims, provider operations, customer service, and other core operational functions.
- Drive customer experience strategies that improve satisfaction, retention, service quality, and efficiency.
- Establish governance, performance metrics, reporting, and continuous improvement programs to optimize operational effectiveness.
- Manage strategic vendor relationships, ensuring performance, compliance, quality, and financial objectives are met.
- Lead business portfolios, transformation initiatives, and PMO activities, including project governance, change management, and implementation readiness.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and maintain strong risk management and audit controls.
- Partner across functions to support product launches, system implementations, market growth, and enterprise priorities.
- Build and develop high-performing teams while fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, collaboration, and customer focus.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree required.
- 10+ years of leadership experience in operations, customer service, program management, business transformation, or related disciplines.
- Proven success leading large-scale operations in highly regulated environments.
- Experience in operational governance, vendor management, customer operations, strategic execution, and process improvement.
- Strong leadership, communication, analytical, financial, and stakeholder management skills.
- Demonstrated ability to lead organizational transformation and deliver results in complex, fast-paced environments.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, Operations Management, or a related field.
- Experience leading dental, health insurance, or other regulated healthcare operations.
- Proven success managing large-scale customer service, claims, enrollment, billing, or provider operations.
- Strong background in operational excellence, Lean Six Sigma, process optimization, and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Experience overseeing strategic vendor partnerships and outsourced operations.
- Demonstrated success leading enterprise transformation, digital modernization, and customer experience initiatives.
- Strong financial acumen with experience managing operating budgets, forecasting, and business case development.
- Expertise in governance, risk management, compliance, and regulatory readiness.
- Exceptional executive presence with the ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders and drive organizational change.
- Track record of building and developing high-performing teams in complex, fast-paced environments.
If you will be working at home occasionally or permanently, the internet connection must be obtained through a cable broadband or fiber optic internet service provider with speeds of at least 10Mbps download/5Mbps upload.For this position, we anticipate offering an annual salary of 144,200 - 240,400 USD / yearly, depending on relevant factors, including experience and geographic location.
This role is also anticipated to be eligible to participate in an annual bonus and long term incentive plan.
