Director, Individual Dental Distribution & Sales Operations

Role Summary

The Director, Individual Dental Distribution & Sales Operations is responsible for driving growth, expanding market reach, and optimizing sales performance across the Individual Dental business. Reporting to the Senior Director of Individual Dental, this leader will develop and execute distribution strategies that accelerate membership growth, strengthen broker and partner relationships, and enhance the effectiveness of sales operations.

This role provides strategic and operational leadership across broker distribution, direct-to-consumer sales, strategic partnerships, call center performance, sales enablement, digital distribution, and sales operations. The Director will lead a high-performing team while collaborating with internal and external partners to improve customer and broker experiences, increase market visibility, and achieve sales, retention, and revenue objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Distribution Strategy & Growth:

  • Develop and execute distribution strategies that drive new business growth, retention, and profitable expansion across Individual Dental markets.
  • Identify and expand strategic partnerships, broker relationships, and digital distribution opportunities to increase market presence and business performance.
  • Establish and execute growth plans that align with organizational objectives and evolving market opportunities.

Sales Leadership & Performance Management:

  • Lead sales performance management across all distribution channels, including sales forecasting, pipeline oversight, production analysis, retention reporting, and partner productivity metrics.
  • Establish clear performance expectations, operating rhythms, accountability measures, and business reviews to drive consistent results.
  • Monitor market trends and distribution performance to identify opportunities for growth and operational improvement.

Broker & Strategic Partner Management:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with brokers, general agencies, strategic partners, and digital distribution organizations.
  • Support broker engagement strategies that increase visibility, strengthen partner loyalty, and drive sales opportunities.
  • Serve as a senior business leader and trusted advisor with key external partners.

Direct-to-Consumer & Call Center Operations:

  • Oversee direct-to-consumer sales and retention operations, including outsourced call center partnerships.
  • Ensure call center partners meet expectations for conversion, retention, quality, service levels, staffing readiness, and overall sales performance.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance customer acquisition and retention outcomes.

Sales Enablement & Operational Excellence:

  • Lead sales enablement programs that provide brokers, distribution partners, and sales teams with the training, tools, and resources needed to succeed.
  • Drive sales process improvements that enhance broker and customer experiences, increase efficiency, improve conversion rates, and support scalable growth.
  • Oversee commissions administration, sales support functions, reporting capabilities, and key sales technology platforms.

Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team of sales and operations professionals, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and results.
  • Partner with Product, Marketing, Finance, Operations, Compliance, Legal, Technology, and other stakeholders to prioritize growth initiatives and remove barriers to execution.
  • Influence strategic decisions and roadmap priorities that improve distribution effectiveness, partner experience, digital capabilities, and sales performance.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, Finance, Operations, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in sales, distribution, broker management, strategic partnerships, health insurance, or related industries.
  • 5+ years of people leadership experience, including leading managers and cross-functional teams.
  • Proven success driving growth through broker, agency, strategic partner, digital, or direct-to-consumer channels.
  • Deep understanding of distribution models, sales operations, call center performance, partner management, and customer acquisition strategies.
  • Demonstrated experience leading multiple functions within a sales or distribution organization, including sales enablement, reporting, process improvement, vendor management, and operational performance.
  • Strong track record of building high-performing teams, coaching leaders, and driving organizational effectiveness.
  • Ability to translate strategy into measurable execution plans and business outcomes.
  • Strong analytical, financial, and problem-solving capabilities, including forecasting, performance management, and business planning.
  • Proven ability to influence and collaborate effectively across matrixed organizations and external partnerships.
  • Exceptional communication, relationship management, presentation, and executive influencing skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in Individual, Dental, Vision, Supplemental Health, Medicare, or broader Health Insurance markets.
  • Experience leading broker distribution and strategic partner ecosystems at a national or regional scale.
  • Knowledge of digital marketplace distribution, call center sales operations, and customer acquisition models.
  • Experience managing third-party vendors and outsourced sales organizations.


If you will be working at home occasionally or permanently, the internet connection must be obtained through a cable broadband or fiber optic internet service provider with speeds of at least 10Mbps download/5Mbps upload.

For this position, we anticipate offering an annual salary of 151,100 - 251,800 USD / yearly, depending on relevant factors, including experience and geographic location.

This role is also anticipated to be eligible to participate in an annual bonus and long term incentive plan.
