Engineering Manager, Data Platform

Lead a team at the core of Atlassians data strategy. Deep technical challenges around throughput, latency, cost and reliability at massive scale, with a mandate to grow and shape the team.

• 10+ years in software engineering with 4+ years managing engineering teams (managing senior ICs and/or managers preferred at M60).

• Must have led teams building/operating data platform systems in streaming/ingestion (Flink, or Spark as an alternative) and/or MPP query engines (StarRocks, or alternatives such as Trino / Apache Pinot / Apache Doris).

• Proven track record of operational management of high-scale data platform systems in production — reliability, performance, cost and data-quality/observability.

• Strong technical depth in distributed systems. kubernetes and large-scale data infrastructure (GCP/AWS).

• Proven people leadership: hiring, growing, coaching and retaining senior engineers.
