Flexible, Remote-Friendly Structure

Youll travel on-site periodically, roughly 25% of the time, to support installations and meet clients face to face, which matters in this close-knit community, while doing the bulk of your programming and design work on your own schedule.

Job Overview

Were looking for a highly skilled Residential Remote AV Programmer who thrives on solving technical challenges, leading installations, and building trust with clients.

This position offers real flexibility: it can be based on-site, or set up as a remote/hybrid role with periodic travel, roughly 25% of the time, to support hands-on project work and meet clients in person.

Youll leverage your technical expertise to guide homeowners toward the right technology solutions during site visits and consultations. Your recommendations come from experience.

Responsibilities

Lead Complex Installations

• Lead daily field activities on residential integration projects
• Coordinate with technicians to ensure installations are completed to company standards
• Maintain exceptional workmanship and attention to detail

Advanced Programming

• Program and commission:
• Control4 (required)
• Lutron RA3 lighting
• Lutron shading systems
• Savant (preferred)
• URC (preferred)

Client Consultation

• Meet with homeowners to understand their needs
• Recommend technology solutions that genuinely improve the client experience
• Build long-term relationships through trust rather than aggressive selling

Technical Leadership

• Mentor technicians on job sites
• Communicate effectively with project management and fellow team members
• Represent the company professionally with clients

Qualifications

Required

• Residential AV integration experience
• Expert-level Control4 programming
• Strong experience with Lutron RA3 lighting and shading systems
• Excellent troubleshooting skills
• Experience leading installation projects
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Clean driving record

Preferred

• Savant programming experience
• URC programming experience
• Josh.ai familiarity
• Experience working directly with homeowners during project design
• Interest in developing consultative sales skills
• Comfortable building project estimates and proposals in QuickBooks, a plus for supporting the sales team

Location & Travel

Open to candidates based on-site or remotely within a direct flight of the teams home base (Mountain West markets like Utah or Colorado are a strong fit). Remote/hybrid candidates should expect to travel on-site periodically, up to about 25% of the time, to support installations and meet with clients face to face.

Compensation

• Base Salary: $70,000–$80,000 annually (based on experience)
• Commission: Approximately 4% before tax on projects you help sell, creating significant earning potential beyond base salary
• Relocation Assistance: Available for qualified candidates
