We are partnering with a well-established audio-visual integration company serving commercial and hospitality clients across the Charleston, Myrtle Beach, and Savannah markets. The team designs and engineers AV, sound, and room control systems for hotels, resorts, and other commercial spaces throughout the coastal Carolinas and Georgia region, working with platforms including Crestron, BIAMP, Symmetrix, and QSC.

The company is investing in its technical team during a genuine growth period, with hospitality demand accelerating across the region and a strong pipeline of commercial AV projects already coming in.

Job Overview

The AV Systems Designer will be the technical backbone for design and engineering across the teams commercial and hospitality projects. In this role, youll take project requirements, site conditions, and client goals from initial scope through to a complete, buildable system design, including drawings and bills of materials ready for the field team to install and quote. Youll work closely with the sales team and company leadership, serving as the go-to technical resource for both.

This is a remote position with periodic travel to the Charleston, SC office and active project sites for collaboration, client walkthroughs, and team connection. Beyond system design, youll have the opportunity to take on additional responsibilities such as project management and product procurement, and to help shape the companys design standards and standard operating procedures as the team grows.

The ideal candidate is easygoing and collaborative, comfortable working independently while staying closely connected to the team, and genuinely enjoys mentoring and sharing knowledge with others rather than gatekeeping expertise.

Responsibilities

• Translate project requirements, site conditions, and client goals into complete system designs, including drawings and bills of materials ready to be quoted and installed
• Design and engineer commercial AV, sound, and room control systems such as Crestron, BIAMP, and QSC
• Support hospitality and commercial projects, including room combining systems and integrated room controls
• Collaborate closely with the sales team and company leadership, joining client conversations as needed to translate technical requirements into a clear plan
• Serve as a technical resource for the field technician team, answering system-level questions and helping troubleshoot in the field
• Take on project management and product or vendor procurement responsibilities as time and opportunity allow
• Help shape internal design standards and standard operating procedures as the team grows

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

 

• Hands-on system design experience with commercial AV platforms including Crestron and BIAMP
• CTS-I certification, or willingness to obtain it (company-paid)
• Proficiency with system design and drafting tools such as Visio, CAD, or D-Tools
• Ability to translate a project concept into a complete, buildable system design
• Comfortable working remotely as a self-directed contributor while staying closely connected to an on-site team, with willingness to travel periodically for client and team collaboration

 

Preferred Qualifications

 

• Crestron certification or programming experience
• Experience designing systems for hospitality environments such as hotels and resorts
• Genuine interest in mentoring and sharing knowledge with a growing team

Compensation

• Base salary range of $75,000 to $85,000, commensurate with experience

Travel

• Less than 20% of the time
