TheTravel is a rapidly growing online travel publication that is dedicated to inspiring people to explore the world. We are seeking a talented and passionate freelance travel writer to join our team and help us share unique and captivating stories about travel destinations, culture, and experiences.

If youre a driven writer who stays on top of travel trends and loves watching your work take off, youll fit right in. Wed especially love to hear from park rangers, NPS staffers, and seasoned parks and outdoors experts with firsthand knowledge of permits, trails, seasonal conditions, and park safety.

Your Responsibilities

• Pitch high-impact topics prioritizing the angles with the highest audience and traffic potential.
• Research and write original travel articles built to engage readers and rank.
• Track how your articles perform and use those insights to improve each piece.
• Follow TheTravels Editorial Guidelines to produce unique, high-quality content.
• Meet tight deadlines and submit consistently.
• Work with the Lead Editor to implement feedback quickly.

Experience and Skills

• Bachelors degree in journalism or a related field.
• 5+ years producing travel content.
• Deep familiarity with and passion for the travel industry and the latest travel trends.
• Experience with SEO and a track record of content that ranks and performs.
• A results-driven mindset and genuine interest in article metrics and audience engagement.
• Experience with a custom CMS preferred.
