SCOPE:
We’re looking for a Pricing Actuary Lead (open rank) to help lead pricing strategy and execution across our product portfolio. This role is ideal for a data-driven insurance professional with strong actuarial and business instincts who’s ready to drive pricing performance and partner closely with Product, Underwriting, and Analytics teams. You’ll play a critical role in shaping rate adequacy, competitiveness, and profitability in a dynamic, fast-paced non-standard auto insurance market. This is a remote position and the ideal candidate is located in the Southeast Region.


DUTIES:
  • Help lead the design and implementation of pricing strategies, ensuring alignment with profitability and growth targets.
  • Oversee rate reviews and pricing model development across states and segments.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Underwriting, Reserving and Claims to inform pricing decisions and support new product initiatives.
  • Drive rate filing strategies, including preparation of actuarial support and regulatory responses.
  • Monitor performance metrics such as loss ratios, retention, and conversion to evaluate pricing effectiveness and recommend adjustments.
  • Ensure compliance with actuarial standards and regulatory requirements across jurisdictions.
  • Develop predictive models to improve product segmentation and pricing.

EDUCATION:
  • Bachelor’s degree in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, economics, finance, or related field required.
  • ACAS designation preferred; progress toward actuarial credentials is a plus.
  • Master’s degree in quantitative discipline is a plus.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
  • 5+ years of pricing experience in P&C insurance, preferably in personal or non-standard auto.
  • Commercial lines knowledge a plus.
  • Deep understanding of actuarial pricing methods, loss cost modeling, and competitive analysis.
  • Proficiency in tools such as Excel, SQL, R, Python, or actuarial software (e.g., Emblem, Radar).
  • Experience supporting rate filings and communicating with regulators.
  • Strong strategic thinking, business judgment, and communication skills.
  • Familiarity with Florida and Texas markets is a strong plus.
