Job Description

Turner & Townsend is seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Construction Estimator to join our growing team supporting large-scale, mission-critical construction projects. This role will be responsible for preparing detailed and accurate cost estimates for complex electrical systems across hyperscale and enterprise data center developments throughout all phases of the project lifecycle. 

The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience estimating electrical scopes for large commercial, industrial, or mission-critical facilities, with a strong understanding of high-voltage and low-voltage systems, power distribution, substations, emergency power systems, switchgear, UPS infrastructure, grounding, controls, and communications systems. The successful candidate will collaborate with project teams and key stakeholders to provide strategic cost advice, evaluate value engineering opportunities, manage cost risks, and support the successful delivery of highly technical, fast-paced construction programs. 


Responsibilities:  

• Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for electrical systems in construction projects. 
• Review project plans and specifications to determine the scope of work and required materials. 
• Lead the development of comprehensive cost management plans with project teams. 
• Analyze project requirements and provide value engineering options. 
• Perform cost risk analysis and provide input into value engineering. 
• Communicate and collaborate with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders. 
• Utilize industry-specific estimating software and tools to prepare estimates. 
• Provide estimating advice, guidance, and analysis to project stakeholders. 
• Develop and maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry-specific estimating processes and methodologies. 
• Prepare formal estimating reports, including quantity, cost, escalation, and other assumptions and clarifications. 
• Mentor and support junior estimators, fostering their professional development and promoting a culture of continuous learning and improvement. 
• SOX control responsibilities may be part of this role, which are to be adhered to where applicable. 

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, cost management, quantity surveying, engineering or field related to construction.
• Minimum 5-7 years of relevant experience
• Experience in a construction cost management role such as Cost Manager, Quantity Surveyor, Estimator, Cost Engineer, Project Engineer, Project Cost Controls etc.
• Experience providing conceptual estimating services and/or pre-construction services at a construction management or related firm.
• Experience supporting large scale construction projects and programs 
• Good knowledge of construction industry technical matters, such as value management and value engineering.
• Excellent communication skills.
