The Claims Senior Supervisor oversees the daily operations of a claims team, ensuring adherence to company guidelines, industry regulations, and service standards. This role manages Construction Defect claims, provides technical expertise, develops staff capabilities, and drives efficient claims resolution to achieve business objectives and maintain a high level of customer satisfaction.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

Following is a summary of the essential functions for this job. Other duties may be performed, both major and minor, which are not mentioned below. Specific activities may change from time to time.  

• Supervise and lead a team of claims adjusters and specialists, ensuring performance objectives and quality standards are met. 
• Review and approve coverage analysis on claims within delegated authority and escalate as necessary. 
Provide technical guidance, coaching, and mentorship to team members to enhance proficiency and support career development. 
Monitor workflow, allocate resources, and resolve escalated issues to maintain service-level agreements. 
• Ensure compliance with applicable laws, industry regulations, and internal policies for all claims activities. 
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to identify process improvements and implement best practices for claims handling. 
• Analyze claims data to identify trends, manage risk exposure, and recommend strategic initiatives. 
• Conduct performance evaluations and contribute to workforce planning, including hiring, training, and succession management.
 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE 

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. 

• Bachelor’s degree in insurance, business administration, or a related field, or equivalent work experience. 
• 5 or more years of claims handling experience with at least 2 years in a supervisory or team lead role. 
• Proven track record managing complex and high-severity claims across multiple lines of business.
 

CERTIFICATIONS / LICENSES / REGISTRATIONS 

State adjuster license where required or ability to obtain within specified timeframe . 
• Professional insurance certification (e.g., CPCU, AIC) preferred.
