Geospatial Analyst

Location: Sacramento, CA, United States; Hybrid

We are seeking a talented Geospatial Analyst to join our team. You will be part of a collaborative group of GIS Specialists and Data Services professionals who deliver innovative solutions to both internal and external clients within an ESRI environment.

As a member of our Environmental Services Geospatial team—comprising over 160 geospatial professionals, you will help identify client needs and recommend optimal geospatial technologies and solutions to meet business objectives. Our team is solid and experienced, with diverse professional expertise ranging from 3 years to 29 years. We’re proud to say that our department has a strong retention rate, with employees staying with the company for more than 10 years on average.

As a Geospatial Analyst with Stantec you will provide technical support which includes mapping applications, spatial analysis, and map production; as well as mentoring and project support for assigned projects. This is a full-time position working with our US West Environmental Services (ES) groups.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Compile, create and maintain spatial and non-spatial information for a variety of platforms primarily involving ESRI ArcGIS Software (ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Online (AGO)).
  • Work in Windows 11 Enterprise and using MS Office suite of applications (Teams, Outlook, Word, Access, Excel, SharePoint).
  • Produce custom thematic map products and carry out data analysis/summaries to support multidisciplinary project deliverables.
  • Prepare web maps, online dashboards, and manage data for field survey crews, using applications and platforms which include Survey 123, Field Maps, and ArcGIS Online.
  • Support geospatial field data collection efforts. Typical collected features include wetlands, waterways, sensitive species occurrences or habitats, cultural resources, paleontological resources, and geotechnical explorations.
  • Adhere to established cartographic standards and Quality Assurance / Quality Control processes.
  • Manage a wide variety of project-specific and reference geospatial data in accordance with defined data management standards.
  • Recognize when technical problems are developing and initiate appropriate corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with existing GIS staff members working in other Stantec offices.
  • Report to the US West Geospatial Team Lead.

About the Organization

Pay Transparency: In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible. Actual compensation for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on the agreed number of working hours per week.
