Application Specialist for Water Treatment with a location in Europe.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Partner with the European Sales Organization to drive business growth, provide advanced technical support, and deliver effective customer solutions that strengthen and protect existing business.

  • Support strategic customer opportunities and major tenders through site assessments, technical audits, solution design, proposal development, and customer presentations.

  • Conduct wastewater treatment surveys, process evaluations, and operational audits to identify optimization opportunities and deliver measurable customer value.

  • Develop, deliver, and facilitate technical training programs for customers, sales teams, and internal stakeholders.

  • Collaborate with R&D, Global Product Management, and Application Teams to support new product introductions, technology validation, and innovation deployment.

  • Quantify and communicate customer value through technical case studies, Value Advantage projects, sustainability assessments, and ROI calculations.

  • Create, maintain, and continuously improve technical documentation, application tools, digital resources, and knowledge-sharing platforms.

  • Support the implementation and optimization of digital monitoring and control solutions, leveraging data-driven insights to improve wastewater treatment performance and operational efficiency.

  • Act as a recognized technical expert in industrial and municipal wastewater treatment, providing guidance on process optimization, regulatory considerations, and best practices.

  • Travel across Europe (approximately 50-70%) to support customers, business development activities, and technology implementation.

 
The Individual:

  • Degree in Chemistry, Environmental Engineering, or related field

  • Significant experience in industrial and / or municipal wastewater treatment technologies (sludge treatment, dewatering technologies)

  • Experience in municipal tendering process

  • Ideally experience in cooperation with engineering firms, regulatory knowledge for EU and local authorities

  • Strong understanding of coagulants, flocculants, and process chemicals 

  • Ability to communicate value creation (economic + environmental) internal & to customers

  • Strong customer-facing communication skills

  • Ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams 

  • Resilient, flexible, and able to manage multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment

  • Fluency in English; additional languages are a plus 

  • Previous sales experience in water treatment business preferred
