Job Description

Position: Intern, Asset Operations

 

Location: Remote

 

Overview:

The Asset Operations Intern will support the development of foundational operational documentation and process standardization across the Asset Operations organization. In this role, you will partner with Operations & Maintenance (O&M) team members to document workflows, create Visio process maps, and help develop the initial Level 1 / Version 1 O&M Playbook and supporting Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Your work will contribute to improved consistency, efficiency, and knowledge sharing across operational functions. This is a unique opportunity to gain hands-on exposure to the full Asset Operations organization, including O&M, Asset Management, Performance, Remote Operations, and NERC compliance activities, while helping build resources that support long-term operational excellence.

 

Main Responsibilities:

• Support the development and documentation of the Level 1 / Version 1 Operations & Maintenance (O&M) Playbook.
• Collaborate with O&M team members and subject matter experts to gather information and document operational processes.
• Create, update, and maintain process flow diagrams using Microsoft Visio or similar process-mapping tools.
• Facilitate the review, revision, and validation of process documentation to ensure accuracy and consistency.
• Assist in drafting and formatting Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and related operational documentation.
• Organize and maintain process documentation libraries and version control practices.
• Identify opportunities to improve process clarity, workflow efficiency, and documentation standards.
• Participate in meetings and projects that provide exposure to Asset Management, Performance, Remote Operations, and NERC-related activities.

 

Required Qualifications: 

• Currently pursuing a bachelors degree in Business Management, Operations Management, Engineering, Energy Management, or a related field.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to gather, organize, and document information from multiple stakeholders.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a team environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience using Microsoft Visio or other process-mapping software.
• Coursework or experience related to process improvement, business operations, or project management.
• Interest in renewable energy, utility operations, asset management, or industrial operations.
• Familiarity with process documentation, workflow analysis, or SOP development.
• Experience working on team projects that required collaboration, organization, and attention to detail.
