VP National Sales

PRIMARY PURPOSE

The Vice President, National Sales is responsible for leading Sedgwick Canadas national business development strategy, driving sustainable revenue growth, and expanding market share across all service lines. This executive leadership role is accountable for driving and executing national sales growth, cultivating strategic relationships with brokers, carriers, corporations, associations, and risk management professionals, while positioning Sedgwick as the Canadian partner of choice!

The successful candidate will report to the SVP, National Sales & lead a high-performing sales culture, work collaboratively with operational leaders across Canada, and contribute to the achievement of the organizations strategic growth objectives.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategic Leadership

  • Develop and execute Sedgwick Canadas national sales and growth strategy.
  • Establish annual sales goals, revenue targets, and key performance indicators aligned with corporate objectives.
  • Identify market opportunities and emerging trends to drive profitable growth.
  • Collaborate with operational and service line leaders to develop targeted growth initiatives.
  • Monitor competitive activity, industry developments, and client needs to ensure Sedgwick maintains a leading market position.
  • Operate within a structured CRM pipeline management process, maintaining accurate sales forecasts, opportunity progression, and activity reporting.

Business Development

  • Drive new business acquisition and organic growth across all Sedgwick service offerings.
  • Develop and maintain executive-level relationships with brokers, insurers, employers, risk managers, and strategic partners.
  • Lead complex national sales opportunities and strategic pursuits.
  • Manage and advance a robust pipeline of qualified opportunities.
  • Represent Sedgwick at industry conferences, broker events, and client engagements.
  • Develop sales strategies for key market segments

Insurer & Broker Relationship Management

  • Build, grow and strengthen relationships with national Broker & Insurance partners across Canada
  • Support retention and expansion of existing client relationships.
  • Collaborate with operations and account management teams to ensure exceptional client service delivery.

Financial & Performance Management

  • Achieve annual revenue and growth targets.
  • Monitor sales performance metrics and provide regular reporting to executive leadership.
  • Develop pipeline reporting to support business planning.
  • Recommend corrective action plans when performance objectives are not being achieved.

Leadership & Talent Development

  • Foster a high-performance, collaborative sales culture.
  • Establish accountability measures to ensure attainment of sales goals.
  • Support succession planning, talent development, and employee engagement initiatives.
  • Coach and develop future sales leaders within the organization.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education

  • Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Finance, Insurance, Risk Management, or related discipline preferred.
  • Relevant industry experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
  • Professional designations such as CIP, CRM, FCIP, or equivalent are considered assets.

Experience

  • Minimum 10 years of progressive business development, sales leadership, or executive leadership experience with at least 5+ years in Insurance & Claims.
  • Demonstrated success leading national sales strategies and revenue growth initiatives.
  • Experience within insurance, claims management, third-party administration (TPA), risk management, consulting, or related industries strongly preferred.
  • Established network within the Canadian insurer and broker community.
  • Proven track record of securing large national accounts and strategic partnerships.
  • Experience leading and developing high-performing sales growth

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Exceptional executive presence and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong strategic planning and business acumen.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills.
  • Advanced negotiation and influencing capabilities.
  • Ability to travel regularly throughout Canada. Travel is maximum 40%

Target Compensation Range: $120,000 to $150,000+ CAD annually, plus bonus and vehicle allowance, based on experience, qualifications, and demonstrated business development success.

Compensation is determined based on experience, qualifications, performance history, market conditions, and internal equity. Sedgwick is committed to fair, transparent, and equitable compensation practices.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This position operates in a professional office and remote work environment, requiring regular travel throughout Canada.
