SSI and UK Legislation Programme Officer

This role sits within the Scottish Statutory Instrument (SSI) and UK Legislation Team in the Parliament and Legislation Unit, a small and collaborative team responsible for supporting the development and delivery of key legislative programmes across government. The teams mission is to ensure the effective coordination, management and delivery of legislative business, while providing expert support and advice on parliamentary and legislative processes.

 

Working across a range of corporate legislative programmes, you will build strong relationships with colleagues, Ministers and external stakeholders, while developing expertise in legislative and parliamentary procedures. It is a great opportunity to see the full breadth of government activity. The roles objective is to support the successful delivery of legislative programmes and Ministerial business, while helping to drive continuous improvement, strengthen cross-government collaboration and protect the Scottish Governments interests within the parliamentary process.

 

This fast-paced role will provide an opportunity to work with the Minister for Parliamentary Business and Veterans, as well as supporting Ministers across all portfolios. You will develop a good understanding of how the Scottish Parliament, committees and MSPs operate, which will leave you well placed for future roles.
