Staff Accountant

Description

The Staff Accountant is responsible for the financial management and reporting for a portfolio of clients. 
Primary Responsibilities 
 

• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements with important deadlines 

• Perform bank and other account reconciliations 

• Review and approve peer work product 

• Review, prepare, enter, track and report on budgets 

• Set-up and terminate new communities and accounts 

• Accrue expenses monthly 

• Respond to a high volume of phone calls/e-mails from internal and external customers 

Required Skills, Knowledge And Training 
 

• Understanding of HOA management and financials including governing rules and regulations 

• Strong written and verbal communication skills 

• Able to meet time sensitive deadlines 

• Knowledge of GAAP accounting principles 

• Strong organizational skills 

• Computer skills including Word and Excel 

• Must be very responsive and have strong customer service skills 

• Must be able to manage high volume of work and multi-task 

• Ability to work independently, but also able to work in a team environment 

• Must have a pleasant and professional demeanor and have the ability to manage strong personalities 

• Certified Public Accountant is required
