Social Media Director (Remote)

Recruiter4You is working with a fast-growing iGaming company that is entering a period of hyper-growth and looking for a high-calibre Social Media Director to build and lead its social media engine.

This is not a mid-level Social Media Manager role. The company is looking for a proven player-coach who has already managed and scaled high-volume, multi-platform social channels within iGaming, covering both casino and sportsbook.

The Role

You will take ownership of the social media operation, remaining hands-on while building the systems, processes and team required to scale.

• Own and execute the social media strategy across TikTok, Instagram, X, YouTube, Facebook and other relevant platforms.

• Manage high-volume content operations end-to-end: production → QA → scheduling → publishing → reporting.

• Continue executing day-to-day while building and leading the wider social media team.

• Drive live and matchday coverage around major sporting events, including nights and weekends, alongside always-on casino content.

• Build and manage influencer, creator and KOL programmes focused on commercial results, not simply reach or gifting.

• Use AI, automation, scheduling and analytics tools to improve the speed and effectiveness of the operation.

• Work closely with Marketing, Partnerships, Performance, Product, Compliance and other teams.

• Build engaged communities while turning social traffic into measurable business results.

• Track performance through tagged visits, registrations and FTDs, rather than simply follower numbers.

• Stay ahead of social, sports, casino and iGaming trends and continuously identify opportunities for growth.

What Were Looking For

iGaming experience is non-negotiable.

We need someone who has already demonstrated the ability to operate at scale across multiple high-volume channels, ideally covering TikTok, Instagram, X, YouTube and Facebook.

You should be able to demonstrate:

• Proven experience scaling large, multi-platform iGaming social channels.

• Strong experience across both casino and sportsbook.

• A track record of running creator/influencer programmes with measurable commercial outcomes.

• Hands-on experience with AI, automation, scheduling and analytics tools.

• The ability to build processes, systems and teams rapidly.

• A genuinely hands-on approach — this is a player-coach role, not a purely strategic/directorial position.

• A strong commercial mindset and willingness to be measured against registrations, tagged traffic and FTDs.

Proof of Scale

Candidates will need to provide 2–3 examples of channels they have managed, including channel URLs and meaningful numbers.

We are also interested in seeing examples of creator/influencer programmes you have personally managed and the tools/technology you have used.

Location: Johannesburg strongly preferred. Remote can be considered for an exceptional candidate with an outstanding track record and the ability to cover live sports windows.
