The Security Architect is a senior consulting role responsible for designing and delivering Microsoft security solutions for customer projects. Working with customers, project teams, and technical consultants, this person develops secure architectures, implements Microsoft security technologies, and aligns solutions with business and compliance requirements.

The role spans identity, endpoint, cloud, data protection, governance, and AI security, helping organizations reduce risk and maximize the value of their Microsoft investments.

What Youll Do

As a Security Architect, you will help customers design and implement secure Microsoft environments that protect identities, devices, applications, data, and AI-powered solutions. Youll combine strategic architecture with hands-on delivery to turn security requirements into practical solutions that deliver measurable business value.

• Lead security architecture, design, and implementation activities for customer projects.
• Translate business and security requirements into scalable, secure solutions.
• Design and deliver solutions using Microsoft Defender XDR, Microsoft Sentinel, Microsoft Entra ID, Microsoft Purview, Conditional Access, MFA, and PIM.
• Conduct security assessments, architecture reviews, and gap analyses.
• Create security strategies, architecture diagrams, technical designs, and implementation plans.
• Apply Zero Trust principles across identity, data, cloud, and endpoint security.
• Collaborate with project teams and customer stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
• Provide guidance on compliance, Microsoft Copilot, and AI security and governance.
• Mentor consultants and contribute to security standards and reusable delivery assets.

Required experience

• 6-8+ years of experience in cybersecurity, cloud security, identity security, or security architecture.
• Strong experience designing, implementing, and optimizing Microsoft security solutions in enterprise environments.
• Hands-on expertise with Microsoft Defender products (Microsoft Defender for Endpoint, Microsoft Defender for Identity, Microsoft Defender for Office 365, Microsoft Defender for Cloud Apps) Microsoft Entra ID, Microsoft Purview, and related security technologies.
• Experience with identity and access management (IAM), including Single Sign-On (SSO), Conditional Access, Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), and Identity Governance.
• Strong understanding of core networking concepts, security principles, and multi-domain enterprise environments.
• Experience planning and executing migrations from on-premises infrastructure to Azure and hybrid cloud environments.
• Experience administering and securing Active Directory environments, including AD hardening, Group Policy, AD migrations, and hybrid identity deployments.
• Experience supporting and securing Microsoft Exchange and hybrid messaging environment
• Proficiency with PowerShell and/or other scripting and automation technologies.
• Ability to translate business, security, and compliance requirements into scalable technical solutions and security architectures.
• Previous consulting / client facing experience required
• Experience leading technical teams, projects, and security initiatives.
• Experience developing architecture documentation, technical designs, implementation plans, and security roadmaps.
• Willingness to travel occasionally, approximately 1-2 times per year

Desired experience

• Microsoft certifications such as SC-100, AZ-500, SC-300, or SC-400.
• CISSP, CISM, CCSP, Security+, or similar certifications.
• Experience with Sentinel
• Experience leading Microsoft security modernization or Zero Trust initiatives.
• Knowledge of frameworks such as NIST, CIS, PCI-DSS, HIPAA, or ISO 27001.
• Experience with Defender XDR
• Experience securing Microsoft Copilot and AI-enabled workloads.
