The Opportunity: The purpose of this role is to support the implementation of specific business strategies by contributing to business development and growth through cultivating relationships with designated clients and making informed underwriting decisions to enhance the profitability of the portfolio. Key responsibilities involve generating new business, retaining renewals, and ensuring the overall profitability of the Environmental book of business.

• Location: Atlanta, GA; Chicago, IL; Denver, CO; Houston, TX; or York City, NY

• Work Arrangement: This role is hybrid, where you will be expected to be in the office 2-3 days per week.

• The salary range for this role is between $99,000-$186,000.

Your New Role:

• Review, evaluate and price business by applying underwriting judgment and adhering to regulations.

• Identify and minimize risks through due diligence and escalation of issues when necessary.

• Mentor junior underwriters to ensure efficient team performance.

• Comply with legal and regulatory requirements.

• Contribute to recording and measurement of insurance risks.

• Establish and maintain relationships with producers and customers.

• Assist with improvements in underwriting practices and pricing strategies.

• Research and obtain market intelligence to enhance profit goals.

• Contribute to special projects and department initiatives.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelors Degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience.

Preferred Experience:

• Environmental underwriting experience

Compensation Package: The salary range for this role is provided above. This is the national range for location(s) listed. The salary offer will be decided based on the roles complexity, its location, and the candidate’s professional background, including their education and experience. Beyond the base salary, regular full-time and part-time employees will also be eligible for QBE’s annual discretionary bonus plan based on business and individual performance. We encourage all candidates to apply, even if their salary expectations fall outside of this range, as we are committed to finding the right fit for our team.
