Staff Accountant

The Staff Accountant is responsible for managing complex accounting tasks, ensuring the accuracy of financial records, and supporting the company’s financial reporting processes. They serve as a key team member in maintaining compliance with accounting standards and internal controls while mentoring junior staff.
Key Responsibilities
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Confirms that entries, transactions, and accounts are accurately and properly consolidated and are included in internal and external financial statements.
- Advises management of trends and changes in reporting requirements and recommends best approach for any changes in reporting.
- Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments.
Supervisory Responsibilities
The Staff Accountant will collaborate with other team members but will not directly supervise others.

Required Skills/Abilities:
- Comfortable working across systems and synthesizing data from multiple sources
- Strong communication skills—able to translate messy data into crisp insight
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills that convey complex ideas in a simplified manner, as well as prioritization and planning skills with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to handle responsibilities independently, while exercising good judgment in problem solving.
- Must be able to work independently and professionally in a remote work environment.
- Flexibility to travel as needed.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field or any suitable combination of education and experience will be considered.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience with financial analysis, revenue recognition and compilation of financial reporting packages.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 products (Outlook, SharePoint, PowerPoint, Excel, Word)
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
