Schedule: 40 Hours Weekly - Monday - Friday 8AM - 4:30PM

Job Description

A Day in the Life 

• As an Insurance Verifier, you are the primary point of contact for patients & their families regarding their insurance coverage for our services. Your personal interaction and efficiency start the path for an exceptional experience of care, wellness, and healing.

• You will obtain/verify all required patient and insurance information and enter the information into the registration system in an accurate manner.

• You will identify the need for pre-authorization information, make decisions relating to insurance eligibility utilizing several online systems available at MMC.

  • Scheduled patients: Obtains and documents pre-authorization as appropriate for procedure.

  • Emergent patients: Obtains pre-authorization guidelines and communicates information to Utilization Management.

• You will follow up on all verification issues in a timely manner and communicate information to proper departments regarding information obtained.

Qualifications

What’s Required

• 2 Year / Associate Degree or Equivalent experience 
• 1.5 years of related experience in healthcare

Additional Information

Must reside in Michigan.

Munson Healthcare requires all employees be vaccinated or have lab confirmed immunity for Measles, Mumps, Rubella and Varicella. MHC also requires all employees to receive a flu vaccine during the flu season in the year that they are hired and annually thereafter, or receive an approved medical or religious exemption.
