Director, Government Affairs - REMOTE

Job Summary
Leads and directs policy and government advocacy activities. Monitors the progress of major legislative, regulatory and political initiatives, and develops and implements government relations strategies and lobbying activities to influence outcomes that positively impact the business.
Essential Job Duties
• Represents and advocates interests of the business before Congress, the Administration and relevant federal agencies.
• Cultivates and maintains relationships with delegates from states when enterprise has interests, as well as key congressional committees of jurisdiction and congressional leadership offices.
• Serves as policy and government advocacy liaison to state health plans and/or other lines of business, and acts as advisor to policy and government advocacy senior leadership.
• Identifies and develops government relations strategies to address federal and state specific issues which may impact the business.
• Creates strategies for executing political contributions through the enterprise Political Action Committee (PAC).
• Facilitates communication as appropriate between Molina executive leadership and members of Congress/Administration personnel.
• Collaborates with lobbyists and lobbyist activities.
• May be responsible for leading and managing a team of policy and government advocacy professionals.
Required Qualifications
• At least 8 years experience in government programs, health care policy, state/federal government relations, and/or lobbying activities, or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
• At least 3 years management/leadership experience.
• Extensive knowledge of Medicaid, Medicare, Marketplace and/or other government-sponsored programs.
• General familiarity with health care policy and regulatory issues, including the Affordable Care Act (ACA).
• Familiarity with state legislative and rulemaking process and procurement procedures.
• Strong ability to build relationships and influence decisions.
• Ability to work cross-functionally in a highly matrixed environment.
• Strong time-management skills, and ability to manage simultaneous projects and tasks to meet internal deadlines.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate at a high-level with internal and external stakeholders.
• Microsoft Office suite and applicable software programs proficiency.
Preferred Qualifications
• Lobbyist experience.
• Experience with state/federal government relations and relationship building with key governmental representatives.

Pay Range: $96,325.57 - $208,705.4 / ANNUAL
