Sr. Manager, Content Marketing

As a Senior Manager of Content Marketing at Material Security, youll own the editorial engine that changes how the cybersecurity market thinks about email security: the blog, our web content, and our original research program. Youll partner with data science and threat research to turn Materials product telemetry and customer insight into research that press, analysts, and AI search engines cite, and write the content that security practitioners trust. Your mission is to make workspace security the category the market repeats, with Material Security as the primary source.

What You Will Do

• Own content strategy and the editorial calendar across the blog, resource center, research reports, and executive thought leadership.

• Lead our original research program, including the State of Workspace Security report franchise by partnering with Threat Research

• Write and edit across formats: research reports, technical blog posts, category POV pieces, web copy, video scripts, and campaign content.

• Own the websites content layer and answer-engine optimization: structure our content so AI search engines cite Material, and track share of model against competitors.

• Drive the category narrative in partnership with product marketing, turning our positioning into published arguments the market repeats.

• Build content-led campaigns with demand generation and deliver assets built to convert, on a clear SLA.

• Partner with our founders, engineers, and security researchers to source insight and keep technical content credible with practitioner audiences.

• Measure what works with pipeline influence, citation share, and engagement data, and cut what doesnt.

What We’re Looking For

Experience:

7+ years in content marketing, editorial, tech journalism, or security research writing, with meaningful time in B2B, security or infrastructure.

Writing Authority:

Exceptional writing and editing with a portfolio spanning long-form research or reporting, technical explainers, and sharp short-form. You produce the work, not just the plan.

Data Storytelling:

A track record of turning datasets, telemetry, or survey research into published work that earned coverage and citations.

Security Fluency:

Enough depth to interview a detection engineer without a translator and be credible with a CISO reader. You dont need to write detection rules; you need to never write fluff.

Modern Distribution:

Working knowledge of SEO and hands-on conviction about AEO/GEO: AI answers, not just search rankings, now decide who makes the shortlist.

Editorial Ownership:

Experience running a content function end to end: strategy, calendar, production, review, publication, distribution, measurement.

Point of View:

Opinions about what makes security content worth reading, and receipts.

Compensation at Material Security is determined by a range of factors, including but not limited to the individual’s particular combination of knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience. The projected compensation range for this position is $150,000 - $180,000 per year.
