W Brisbane located at 81 N Quay, Brisbane City QLD 4000 is hiring a Full Time Handyperson to join our Engineering team. As a Handyperson at W Brisbane, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional guest experiences by maintaining our world-class facilities and guest rooms to the highest standard. Responsibilities include: 

• Respond promptly and professionally to guest maintenance requests, ensuring exceptional service standards and guest satisfaction are consistently achieved.
• Carry out preventative maintenance programs across hotel facilities, including guestrooms , kitchens, plant rooms, mechanical systems, and operational equipment.
• Conduct routine inspections of equipment, plant, and machinery to identify maintenance requirements and support operational reliability.
• Maintain clear and accurate communication between shifts, documenting completed works, outstanding tasks, and operational issues in accordance with hotel standards.
• Perform a range of general maintenance tasks including surface preparation, painting, replacement of lighting and air-conditioning filters.
• Undertake basic plumbing maintenance, including clearing blocked drains, repairing leaks, and resolving guestroom plumbing issues.
• Install, program, and troubleshoot in-room entertainment systems, televisions, and guest technology to maintain a seamless guest experience.
• Adhere to all Workplace Health & Safety procedures. 
• Work collaboratively with the Engineering team, contractors, and hotel departments to ensure all maintenance activities are completed safely, efficiently, and to W Hotel luxury standards.

PREFERRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

The below experience is not essential for an applicant with exceptional attitude and a hunger to learn new skills

• Demonstrated experience in general maintenance, including painting, plumbing, carpentry, 
• Strong fault-finding, troubleshooting, and preventative maintenance capabilities.
• Customer-focused approach with exceptional communication and problem-solving skills.
• Sound knowledge of WHS requirements and commitment to maintaining luxury hotel standards through quality workmanship and attention to detail.
• Trade qualification in a relevant discipline preferred, but not essential for candidates with extensive maintenance experience.
