The Opportunity

Lesley Universitys department of Counseling and Psychology is seeking a highly qualified Adjunct Faculty member to teach: CPSYC 3413 - Psychology of Women; Fall 2026 Term II; Asynchronous, Remote.

Course Description:

This course introduces the theoretical foundations in which the study of the psychology of women is grounded. Students will examine the role of sexism in the development of psychological and psychoanalytic theory, as well as its influence on the diagnosis and treatment of womens psychological disorders and mental health concerns. The course also explores key psychosocial issues, including gender differences, patterns of love and work, and lifespan development, with particular attention to their impact on womens psychological experiences and well-being.

Qualities & Capabilities

A successful candidate will:

• Master’s degree in Psychology or closely related field (required); PhD or terminal degree (preferred)

• Experience teaching at the undergraduate level, preferably in an online or asynchronous environment

• Experience facilitating engaging online discussions and fostering student interaction in asynchronous course

• Demonstrated commitment to student-centered, inclusive, and equitable teaching practices

• Experience using learning management systems and instructional technology to support online teaching and learning (preferred)

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
