About the Role

In this role you will craft compelling copy, balance multiple high-visibility projects, partner with art directors from concept to execution and help maintain the brand voice across channels.

What You’ll Do

• Craft memorable headlines with wit and polish using Kohls brand voice guide

• Lead copy development for seasonal and brand campaigns

• Partner closely with other writers, art directors and designers 

• Collaborate with AI to optimize copywriting and concepting

• Present copy and concepts with partners to leaders and stakeholders 

• Translate customer insights into relevant and engaging copy

• Tailor copy for each channel using best practices

• Ensure grammatical and stylistic accuracy using Kohls copy style guide

• Incorporate feedback so copy is up-to-date throughout the lifecycle of a project

• Adhere to production schedules, ensuring milestones and deadlines are met

• Additional tasks may be assigned

What Skills You Have

Required

• Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, Advertising, Marketing or English and 3-5 years of related experience

• Superior grasp of grammar and style as indicated by test

• Demonstrated copywriting and conceptual ability as indicated by portfolio

Preferred

• Retail or fashion experience

• Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite, Figma and Miro

• Experience writing brand manifestos, concept statements, humor or broadcast
