Team: IT
Location: US
Commitment: Full-time
Workplace Type: remote
This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Systems Engineer (C++/Python) based in the United States.
Join a cutting-edge engineering team developing high-performance software at the intersection of machine learning, computer vision, and 3D modeling. In this role, you will implement sophisticated algorithms that transform real-world imagery and large-scale geospatial data into realistic 3D content. You will apply mathematical principles and emerging research in artificial intelligence and computer graphics to solve complex technical challenges. Working closely with technical leadership, you will translate product vision and customer requirements into efficient, scalable software solutions. You will also deploy and test your code in cloud-based environments while collaborating across a modern development pipeline. This opportunity is ideal for an engineer who enjoys advanced computational problems, performance optimization, and building technology with real-world applications.
Accountabilities:
-
Implement core machine-learning, computer vision, and inverse procedural modeling algorithms in C++, with an appropriate level of independence and oversight.
-
Apply mathematical techniques involving linear algebra, probability, and geometry to develop algorithms for image analysis and realistic 3D reconstruction.
-
Incorporate current research in machine learning, artificial intelligence, computer vision, and computer graphics into practical software applications.
-
Collaborate with technical leadership to understand product strategy, customer requirements, and high-level engineering objectives.
-
Design and optimize high-performance software, focusing on execution speed, scalability, and efficient resource management.
-
Use Git or other version control systems to manage source code, track changes, and support collaborative development.
-
Deploy, execute, and test software against large-scale geospatial datasets using cloud infrastructure and remote computing environments.
-
Work with remote machines through Unix shell tools to validate algorithms and generate 3D content for end users.
-
Contribute to the broader data ingestion and product pipeline, ensuring compatibility and efficient integration with other software components.
-
Troubleshoot technical issues, evaluate implementation approaches, and continuously improve software quality and performance.
-
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
-
At least three years of relevant industry experience in a fast-paced, high-growth technology environment.
-
Demonstrated experience designing and building high-performance systems using C++, with a focus on speed, scalability, and resource efficiency.
-
Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to learn and apply new tools, techniques, and engineering practices.
-
Excellent communication skills, including the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
-
A collaborative, team-oriented approach and the ability to work effectively with technical colleagues and leadership.
-
Familiarity with modern C++ and its integration with data ingestion systems and product pipelines.
-
A mathematical background in one or more of the following areas: linear algebra, probability, and geometry.
-
Experience with Git; familiarity with Mercurial or other distributed version control systems is also relevant.
-
Confidence working in Unix shell environments, such as Bash, and with Linux and macOS development and production systems.
-
Experience in game technology, particularly Unreal Engine, computational geometry, C++, and computer graphics.
-
Familiarity with CMake for project and build management.
-
Ability to work independently within the development environment, including demonstrating how you can effectively support your preferred tools and workflow if they differ from the established setup.
-
Annual salary range of $175,000–$215,000.
-
Medical, dental, and vision insurance.
-
401(k) retirement plan.
-
Paid leave.
-
Tuition reimbursement.
-
Additional employee discounts and perks.
-
The opportunity to work with emerging research and advanced technologies in machine learning, computer vision, and 3D graphics.
-
A technically challenging environment focused on high-performance engineering, large-scale data, and innovative software development.
-
Ongoing application acceptance for this position.
