This senior leadership role owns the strategic solutions roadmap for a space warfighting mission area spanning global mission operations, space control, space access, and space energy and wargaming.
You will serve as the senior solution architect, translating complex customer mission challenges into differentiated, executable, and repeatable solutions.
The role focuses on evolving services-based capabilities into technology-enabled Mission Solutions supported by reusable tools, data, demonstrations, and delivery approaches.
You will work across growth, engineering, operations, finance, contracts, mission portfolios, industry partners, and government customers to shape strategic pursuits.
A key part of the position involves defining MVPs, reference architectures, make/buy/partner strategies, and investment priorities aligned with future pipeline opportunities.
You will also guide solution maturity from concept through pilot and repeatable delivery while supporting executive-level customer engagements.
This is an influential opportunity to shape technical strategy and create scalable capabilities across high-priority U.S. and Allied space missions.

Accountabilities:

The Director, Solutions Lead will provide strategic and technical leadership for the space warfighting solutions portfolio, ensuring investments and solution development are closely aligned with customer needs, capture priorities, and sustainable delivery models.

    • Own the solutions roadmap across Global Mission Operations, Space Control, Space Access, and Space Energy and Wargaming.
    • Serve as senior solution architect, ensuring priority pursuits have differentiated, executable, and repeatable technical approaches.
    • Partner with growth and program leadership to align solution development with 12–36 month pipeline priorities, customer demand signals, and capture strategies.
    • Translate customer mission challenges into solution concepts, MVPs, demonstrations, reference architectures, technical volumes, delivery playbooks, and post-award transition plans.
    • Lead make/buy/partner recommendations, evaluating internal capabilities, external technologies, capability gaps, and investment priorities.
    • Integrate existing catalog capabilities and tools into Mission Solutions where appropriate and contribute reusable solution modules to the broader solution portfolio.
    • Establish solution governance and maturity criteria that move offerings from concept to pilot, repeatable delivery, and scalable implementation.
    • Partner with Growth, Finance, Contracts, and Operations on packaging, pricing, contract considerations, data rights, partner roles, and product-attached services.
    • Develop customer-facing and internal materials, including capability statements, solution briefs, demonstrations, MVP backlogs, white papers, reference architectures, technical differentiators, and proposal content.
    • Support executive customer engagements by translating mission expertise into clear value propositions, expected outcomes, evidence requirements, and technical roadmaps.
    • Capture lessons learned from wins, losses, pilots, demonstrations, and program transitions and incorporate those insights into future solution strategies.
    • Lead and collaborate with technical teams, solution architects, productized-services teams, and matrixed pursuit or engineering organizations.
    • Requirements:

The ideal candidate is an experienced solutions leader with a deep background in space systems, defense markets, engineering, and technology-enabled mission solutions. You should combine strategic business judgment with strong technical architecture skills and the executive communication capabilities needed to influence customers, partners, and internal leadership.

      • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Data Science, Operations Research, Business, or a related field; equivalent relevant experience may be considered.
      • 15+ years of experience in solution architecture, solution development, space systems engineering, digital engineering, test and evaluation, or U.S. and Allied defense markets.
      • 8+ years of leadership experience managing technical teams, solution architects, productized-services teams, or matrixed pursuit and engineering organizations.
      • Demonstrated ability to transform services-based capabilities into repeatable, market-facing Mission Solutions using reusable artifacts, tools, templates, dashboards, demonstrations, and delivery playbooks.
      • Experience defining solution roadmaps, MVPs, reference architectures, implementation patterns, and maturation paths from concept through pilot and repeatable delivery.
      • Strong understanding of systems engineering, mission integration, operational test and evaluation, cyber-physical resilience, digital engineering, and data/AI.
      • Experience supporting federal capture, proposal, solution review, or customer-shaping activities with differentiated technical solutions and executable delivery approaches.
      • Proven judgment in make/buy/partner decisions, including evaluating capability gaps, partner technologies, build-versus-buy tradeoffs, and investment priorities.
      • Excellent executive communication skills and the ability to explain complex technical strategies to customers, operators, growth teams, finance, contracts, partners, and senior leadership.
      • U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Top Secret security clearance with active SCI eligibility.
      • Master’s degree in an engineering or technical discipline preferred.
      • Experience with space systems development, including space and launch vehicle subsystems, software development, and modeling and simulation solutions preferred.
      • Experience with digital twins, model-based systems engineering, AI-enabled decision support, mission-thread modeling, or operational readiness dashboards is desirable.
      • Experience supporting solutions for Allied partners is a plus.
      • Experience with IR&D planning, product management, Agile/MVP delivery, MOSA/open-architecture principles, platform-enabled services, or product-attached professional services is preferred.
