Cybersecurity Analyst

Accountabilities

• Review, triage, investigate, and resolve cybersecurity tickets, alerts, service requests, and escalations.

• Monitor network and system activity to identify potential threats and support effective mitigation.

• Support security activities involving email security, Active Directory, Group Policy, firewalls, cloud environments, and multi-factor authentication.

• Conduct vulnerability assessments and assist with penetration testing and remediation activities.

• Analyze security incidents and contribute to incident response efforts.

• Implement, maintain, and monitor security controls designed to protect systems, users, and sensitive information.

• Perform security audits, risk assessments, and control reviews while identifying opportunities to reduce organizational risk.

• Support cybersecurity projects, continuous improvement initiatives, and security awareness programs.

• Develop, maintain, and improve cybersecurity documentation, standard operating procedures, and operational guidance.

• Communicate security findings, risks, recommendations, and mitigation strategies clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Stay current with emerging cybersecurity threats, technologies, industry trends, frameworks, and security best practices.

Requirements

• 2–4 years of professional experience in cybersecurity or a closely related IT discipline.

• Strong understanding of networking concepts, operating systems, cloud platforms, and cybersecurity principles.

• Hands-on experience with security technologies such as firewalls, IDS/IPS, SIEM platforms, endpoint protection, or vulnerability management tools.

• Working knowledge of Active Directory and Group Policy administration.

• Experience with firewall administration, access rules, routing concepts, and related network security services.

• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, investigation, and problem-solving capabilities.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical security topics to diverse audiences.

• Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.

• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a distributed team.

• Customer-focused and service-oriented approach, particularly when supporting internal and external stakeholders.

• Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field is preferred.

• Security certifications such as Security+, CEH, CISSP, CISM, or comparable credentials are preferred.

• Experience with cybersecurity frameworks, security controls, risk management, healthcare compliance, regulated environments, MSPs, or client-facing technology environments is advantageous.
