About Giga

Giga is building gigawatts of AI data centers to hasten a future of intelligence and abundance. We build data centers fast and at scale by combining the capabilities of an equipment supplier, engineering firm, general contractor, and real estate developer under one roof. Our team moves quickly and thinks practically. If youre ready to make an impact in an industry that matters, were looking for people like you.

Why join Giga

  • The Pace: Were building at a speed most companies talk about but never actually operate at. If youve been bored somewhere else, you wont be here.
  • The Impact: Every person at Giga touches the work that matters. No layers, no waiting for approval chains. Youll see your fingerprints on what we ship.
  • The Team: A team of operators defining the future of AI infrastructure. We recruit A-players from the most innovative companies in the world, and they choose Giga because the work here means more.
  • The Moment: AI doesnt run without power, and thats us. Giga is the picks and shovels behind the AI revolution. This industry is about to explode, and youll be in the room where its already happening.

What youll do

As the Head of Lifecycle Services, you will be in charge of supporting the entire aftermarket lifecycle of our full suite of data center products: diesel gensets, UPS systems, medium-voltage switchgear, white space modules, HVAC equipment, chillers, and more. This spans both customer sites and our own data center facilities, often under long-term service agreements. To do this well, we need gold standard processes: complete documentation, clear procedures, defined standards, and real controls. Youll bring the experience to know what great looks like, put it in place here, and build the team to run it.

The scope covers the service business we deliver today (warranty administration, field service, troubleshooting, and parts support), the capabilities were building next (preventive maintenance programs, spares planning, and training), and the feedback loop that turns field failures into product improvements. Whats changing is the equipment itself: a broader product set, more complexity, and high uptime requirements that put real scrutiny on how we service it.

This is a cross-functional role. Working with engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, and project delivery, youll make sure that when equipment gets deployed, the procedures, parts, documentation, and trained people to support it for its full life already exist.

Where youll work

We are an in-office culture — velocity matters when youre building physical infrastructure, and the best decisions happen in the room. This role is ideally based in our Houston office, with full-time onsite expectations outside of bi-weekly WFH Fridays.

That said, we will make exceptions for truly exceptional talent if you live outside one of our hubs. If youre the right person for this role, well have a conversation about what works.

Responsibilities

  • Build and lead the Lifecycle Services organization: uplevel the existing team, define the roles were missing, and hire the people to fill them.
  • Bring the playbook. Youve seen how a mature OEM service organization runs, and youll implement that here: the documentation, procedures, standards, and controls that make service reliable at scale.
  • Work with engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, and project delivery so that when equipment gets deployed, the procedures, parts, documentation, and trained people to support it already exist.
  • Build service documentation to industry standard: O&M manuals, PM procedures, troubleshooting guides, and service bulletins.
  • Stand up our preventive maintenance and long-term service agreement delivery capability: PM schedules and procedures by equipment type, staffing and coverage models, and emergency response.
  • Own the warranty program end to end: claims, cost tracking, supplier recovery, and failure analysis fed back into engineering.
  • Develop the spare parts strategy with procurement, and the training program for our technicians and any third-party service providers.

Requirements

  • 10+ years in aftermarket services, product support, or field service leadership for an OEM or service provider in critical power or heavy industrial equipment: gensets, UPS, switchgear, HVAC/chillers, or similar.
  • Youve built or significantly contributed to scaling a service organization before, and you know what great looks like: documentation standards, PM program design, warranty administration, spares planning, and field workforce management.
  • Deep familiarity with industry-standard service expectations: youve lived inside a real OEM service org (think Cummins, Caterpillar, Vertiv, Eaton, Schneider, ABB, Trane, or their peers) and know what customers with critical loads expect.
  • Experience managing distributed field teams and third-party or subcontracted service providers.
  • Player-coach mentality: youll build the org, but youll also be in the details.
  • Data center or critical facilities experience is a plus; a technical degree (EE/ME) or equivalent hands-on background is preferred.

Benefits

  • Subsidized health, dental, and vision insurance
  • Equity (options) in a rapidly growing startup
  • 401(k) with 4% employer match
  • Unlimited PTO
  • Parental leave
  • Healthcare and Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) or Health Savings Account (HSA)
  • Commuter benefits
  • Team on-sites where all offices come in–person to collaborate

Who we hire

We hire people who thrive in chaos and get sharper under pressure. You dont wait to be told what to do, you spot the gap and fill it. When theres work to be done, you do it. You make decisions with the information you have, move fast, and adjust along the way. Were not looking for perfect; were looking for people who get things done.
