What you’ll do

As the Client and Field Service EHS Manager, you will own safety and regulatory compliance for Gigas field service organization — the technicians and electrical engineers who work at customer and project sites across Texas, California, and Nevada. That means building and running the EHS programs that keep a distributed, multi-state workforce safe and compliant with Federal OSHA, Cal/OSHA, and Nevada OSHA, and reconciling the gaps where state requirements exceed federal standards. Youll spend real time in the field — training crews, coaching technicians on electrical safety and LOTO, and being present where energized work actually happens — while partnering closely with the Field Service Manager to make sure safety is built into how the team dispatches and works, not bolted on after the fact.

Where you’ll work

This role is home-based/remote, with a strong preference for candidates based in Texas or the West Coast given the travel footprint of the role. This is a deliberate exception to our standard in-office model — the nature of field service EHS work means being where the crews are, not where an office is. Expect approximately 40% travel to field sites, customer locations, and Giga Energy factories across Texas, California, and Nevada.

Responsibilities

Multi-State Compliance Program

  • Develop and maintain written EHS programs that satisfy Federal OSHA, Cal/OSHA, and Nevada OSHA requirements for all field service work, flagging and resolving conflicts where state requirements exceed federal standards
  • Track regulatory changes across all three jurisdictions and update programs, training, and documentation accordingly
  • Maintain state-specific program elements, including Californias Injury and Illness Prevention Program (IIPP) and Heat Illness Prevention Plan
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for OSHA, Cal/OSHA, and Nevada OSHA inspections, inquiries, or audits involving field service personnel

Field Service Safety Programs

  • Own safety programs specific to field service work, including electrical safety/arc flash (NFPA 70E), lockout/tagout, working at height, PIT/MEWP operation, and rigging
  • Ensure electrical engineers and technicians performing energized or de-energized electrical work follow qualified-person requirements and proper PPE selection
  • Develop job hazard analyses (JHAs) for common field service tasks and ensure crews complete pre-task hazard assessments before work begins
  • Establish minimum PPE, tooling, and safety equipment standards for field service vehicles and technicians

Training & Field Support

  • Develop and deliver (directly or through qualified trainers) training required for field service personnel, including electrical safety, LOTO, PIT/MEWP, fall protection, first aid/CPR/AED, and HAZCOM
  • Travel to field sites (~40%) to observe work practices, coach technicians and engineers, and provide hands-on support and training
  • Maintain training records and certifications for all field service technicians and electrical engineers across all three states
  • Partner with the Field Service Manager to build safety accountability into scheduling, dispatch, and performance expectations

Incident Management

  • Investigate incidents, near-misses, and injuries involving field service personnel, regardless of the state in which they occurred
  • Maintain OSHA recordkeeping (300/300A/301 logs) and ensure compliance with each states specific reporting timelines and requirements
  • Identify trends across states and job types and drive corrective action to prevent recurrence

Customer & Site Coordination

  • Coordinate with customer sites and host employers to understand and comply with site-specific safety requirements in addition to Giga Energys own standards
  • Ensure field service personnel have the documentation (certifications, training records) needed to gain site access at customer and partner locations

Requirements

  • 4+ years of EHS experience supporting field service, construction, or other mobile/distributed workforces
  • Working knowledge of Federal OSHA 1910/1926 standards, with direct experience applying Cal/OSHA and/or Nevada OSHA requirements
  • Experience with electrical safety programs (NFPA 70E, LOTO) relevant to field electrical testing and service work
  • Willingness and ability to travel approximately 40% of the time to job sites across Texas, California, and Nevada
  • Strong communication and coaching skills, with the ability to build safety buy-in among a distributed, mobile workforce

Bonus points

  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Associate Safety Professional (ASP), or similar certification
  • OSHA 30-Hour General Industry certification; NFPA 70E qualified electrical worker training
  • Experience supporting electrical engineers or technicians performing transformer, switchgear, or medium-voltage equipment testing
  • Experience building or scaling an EHS program across multiple states or regulatory jurisdictions

  • Unlimited PTO
