Our Electrification solutions modernize grids, enable renewable integration, and strengthen energy systems. From software to power conversion and storage, we help create smarter, more resilient energy networks.

Let’s Talk about the Role

The Site Supervisor will oversee the technical integrity, safety, and quality of our high-voltage AIS and GIS projects.

You will act as the heartbeat of our on-site operations, managing the successful installation, maintenance, and commissioning of critical infrastructure. By bridging the gap between our product units and our clients, you will ensure every project meets our rigorous standards while fostering a culture of excellence, safety, and collaborative problem-solving across the field team.

How You Will Make a Difference

  • Quality Assurance: Ensure the overall quality and integrity of the GIS installation/maintenance process, adhering to GEs highest standards.
  • Nonconformity Management: Manage the identification, reporting, and resolution of product-based nonconformities (NCPs), ensuring timely closure.
  • Client Liaison: Act as the primary point of contact between the AIS/GIS product unit and service clients, addressing product and installation issues.
  • Project Reporting: Provide regular updates on project progress and any product issues to the AIS/GIS Project Manager.
  • Team Leadership: Oversee the daily management and task allocation for field teams, maximizing project success through efficient operation.
  • Safety Promotion: Foster a culture of safety on-site, promoting best practices and continuous improvement in safety standards.
  • Site Visits: Conduct investigative visits to assess equipment condition and report on equipment failure.
  • Documentation: Ensure accurate records, reports, and quality documentation are maintained according to GEs internal governance and quality plans.
  • Technical Oversight: Supervise the installation, repair, commissioning, and maintenance of GE products, ensuring technical integrity.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, including Construction (Design and Management) Regulations.

Special Role Requirements

  • Able to travel extensively to and from projects and various field assignments across the UK (and potentially overseas).
  • Willing to work holidays, weekends, and overtime as required by field assignments.
  • Ability to spend considerable time away from home for training and field assignments.

Skills for Success

You should be a hands-on leader who is passionate about high-voltage infrastructure, with:

  • Extensive hands-on experience in substation primary plant construction and installation techniques. This includes familiarity with the installation, commissioning, and maintenance of high-voltage AIS/ GIS equipment and related infrastructure.
  • The ability to lead field operations, including task delegation with subcontractors, and various project stakeholders.
  • A solid understanding of regulatory frameworks and safety standards, particularly the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations.
  • The capability to manage quality assurance processes, including identifying and documenting nonconformities.
  • Expertise in clear communication, allowing you to plan, execute, and report on complex projects effectively.

A formal education in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (such as City & Guilds, ONC, HND, or equivalent) is nice to have, but we are most interested in your total experience and professional achievements.

This is a permanent position based on-site at various client locations across the UK.
