Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced MRI Accountant with at least 5 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in the real estate or property management industry. The ideal candidate will have extensive hands-on experience with MRI Software and will be responsible for the preparation, review, and analysis of financial statements, month-end close, reconciliations, and reporting for a portfolio of properties or corporate entities.
NOTE- The candidates with Real Estate accounting experience using MRI for the GL Accounting Module can apply, MRI (GL Module) experience is a MUST HAVE.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage full-cycle accounting for a portfolio of properties using MRI Software.
- MRI Experience is MANDATORY
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements under GAAP.
- Perform monthly close activities, including journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations.
- Ensure the accuracy of general ledger entries and perform variance analysis.
- Maintain fixed asset schedules and depreciation entries within MRI.
- Collaborate with property managers, asset managers, and other internal teams to support operational needs.
- Assist with annual budget preparation and forecasting.
- Prepare audit schedules and support external audits.
- Stay current on industry trends and software updates related to MRI.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
- 5+ years of relevant accounting experience, with at least 2 years using MRI Software.
- Experience in real estate, property management, or commercial/residential leasing is highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and internal control principles.
- Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical abilities.
- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- CA Qualified preferred.
