To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we’re looking to add a Test Development Engineer located in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Reporting to the Senior Test Engineering Manager, the Test Development Engineer will have responsibility for developing and maintaining automated test solutions for Data Center and AI-focused products for world-wide deployment. A key aspect of this position is regular communication with the product design teams and the Global Operations teams. This role will also encompass working closely with other globally based engineering teams to ensure that our test processes and procedures are consistent across production sites.
What a typical day looks like:
- Develop, document, debug, and distribute automated manufacturing test scripts and other diagnostic tool sIntegrate FW/SW installation into the test process as per project requirements
- Interfacing test solutions with shop floor systems and external resources
- Collaborate with internal and external design teams during NPI phases to provide necessary test
- Support according to scheduled milestones
- Assist production setup and volume ramp with process documentation, training material, and onsite support
- Work closely with the local and global IT organizations in specifying, installing, and maintaining factory
- Test infrastructure according to customer requirements and corporate standards
- Provide sustaining test maintenance support for yield improvement, product updates, debug training
- Participate in the ongoing development and deployment of test automation solutions
- Linux system administration knowledge
- Hands-on experience with server and network hardware and protocols (e.g., virtual machines, VLANs, network architecture, Ethernet protocols and switch administration, Services (tftp, DHCP, PXE)
- Active coding experience (BASH, Python, JSON, REST, YAML, etc.)
The experience we’re looking to add to our team:
- Requires a bachelor’s degree or equivalent, Software Engineering, EE, or Computer Engineering is preferable
- 3-5 years Related experience in working with server & storage products
- Solid customer interfacing skills
- Proficiency in computer hardware architecture, Linux operating system administration, BIOS/BMC tools
- Experience working in an NPI environment and transferring products between facilities
- Working knowledge of common hardware diagnostic and support tools
- Knowledge of server/network/GPU stress and performance tools
- Proficiency using software engineering tools such Jira, GIT and Bitbucket
- Background in computer system manufacturing test or system development and engineering
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Clear written and verbal communications
