About the Opportunity
Ellucian is seeking an Organizational Change Management Consultant to join our Strategic Services team, focused on helping higher education institutions successfully navigate complex technology transformations. This role sits at the intersection of strategy, technology, and people—guiding institutions through change in a way that drives adoption, minimizes disruption, and delivers long-term value.
You’ll work closely with institutional leadership, faculty, and staff to shape and implement change strategies tied to major technology initiatives. This is a consultative role requiring both strategic thinking and hands-on execution, with opportunities to lead engagements, influence stakeholders, and deliver measurable outcomes across diverse campuses.
The Impact You Will Make
In this role, you will be a key driver of successful transformation efforts by:
• Leading change strategy development tailored to the unique needs of higher education institutions adopting new technologies
• Building strong stakeholder alignment by engaging faculty, staff, students, and administrators to understand needs and foster buy-in
• Designing and executing communication plans that clearly articulate the value, goals, and impact of change initiatives
• Developing training programs and resources that empower end users to confidently adopt new systems and processes
• Assessing organizational impact and proactively identifying risks, resistance points, and mitigation strategies
• Managing resistance and facilitating adoption through coaching, support, and targeted interventions
• Defining and tracking success metrics (KPIs) to evaluate effectiveness and continuously improve change initiatives
Your work will directly influence how institutions modernize their operations, improve student outcomes, and operate more efficiently in an evolving higher education landscape.
What You Will Bring
You bring a blend of consulting expertise, change management discipline, and higher education knowledge, including:
• Advanced degree in Business, Organizational Development, Change Management, or a related field
• Proven experience leading change management efforts, particularly within higher education technology environments (e.g., Banner, Colleague)
• Certification in a recognized change management methodology (e.g., Prosci)
• Strong understanding of higher education operations, challenges, and technology ecosystems
• Exceptional communication, facilitation, and stakeholder engagement skills
• Experience designing and delivering training, workshops, and executive-level presentations
• Ability to assess organizational culture, processes, and technology to design holistic solutions
• Familiarity with IT governance, cloud/SaaS environments, and enterprise systems
• Consulting experience across discovery, strategy, and solution development
• Comfort working remotely, leading virtual teams, and traveling up to 50% as needed
You’re also someone who is self-motivated, collaborative, and driven to create meaningful impact—able to navigate complexity while keeping people at the center of change.
