Job Description

The Impact Youll Make

• Lead the design and development of electrical systems for transportation infrastructure projects, with a strong focus on highway and bridge lighting, roadway electrical systems, and related transportation improvements.
• Review, develop, and oversee construction documents including plans, specifications, calculation reports, cost estimates, material quantity takeoffs, shop drawings, Requests for Information (RFIs), and responses to client comments.
• Perform and review lighting analyses, photometric studies, electrical load calculations, and power distribution designs to ensure compliance with applicable codes and transportation agency standards.
• Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and quality control oversight to junior engineering staff.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary project teams, including roadway, bridge, traffic, and structural engineers, throughout project development and delivery.
• Support project managers with project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and client coordination activities.
• Assist with business development efforts, including proposal preparation, scope development, and technical presentations.
• Serve as a trusted technical resource for transportation electrical engineering projects across the organization.

Qualifications

The Expertise Youll Bring

• Bachelors degree in electrical engineering or a related field
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required
• 12+ years of progressive electrical engineering experience required
• Demonstrated experience with highway lighting, bridge lighting, roadway electrical systems, and transportation-related electrical design.
• FDOT experience strongly preferred.
• Proven ability to lead project tasks, mentor junior staff, and coordinate with clients and multidisciplinary design teams.
