Overview

The Vice President, Finance Data & Analytics will lead the evolution of the companys financial and business analytics capabilities, connecting financial, commercial, and operational data into an integrated view of enterprise performance to support decision-making across the organization. Positioned within Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), this leader will build and lead a high-performing Finance Data & Analytics team, partnering closely with Finance, business units, and Technology and Data teams to modernize business intelligence, advance a trusted data foundation, and accelerate the practical application of automation and advanced analytics while leveraging artificial intelligence to perform at scale.

 

The successful candidate will combine strong financial and business acumen with data, analytics, and technology expertise, and will be equally comfortable engaging with technical teams, business leaders, and senior executives.

Responsibilities

  • Set the vision and multi-year strategy for Finance Data & Analytics, spanning financial and business data, analytics, reporting, automation, and artificial intelligence, aligned with the companys strategic priorities, and measure progress against clear success metrics.
  • Serve as a strategic partner across FP&A, Finance, business units, enterprise functions, Technology and Data teams, and executive leadership, connecting financial, commercial, customer, and operational data into an integrated view of performance and translating it into clear insights, risks, opportunities, and recommendations for senior leaders.
  • Build upon a trusted, governed data foundation in partnership with Technology and Data, and modernize management reporting and business intelligence, including Power BI, dashboards, self-service analytics, and driver-based insights, so leaders can quickly understand performance and act.
  • Integrate commercial and operational information, including CRM platforms such as Microsoft Dynamics 365 and/or Salesforce, to improve visibility into pipeline, bookings, revenue, retention, and profitability.
  • Develop and execute a practical roadmap for applying AI, advanced analytics, and automation to forecasting, variance analysis, reporting, scenario modeling, and anomaly detection.
  • Build, develop, and inspire a high-performing Finance Data & Analytics organization, establishing an operating model and talent capabilities that promote accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Partner with business and functional leaders to improve forecasting, performance management, and KPI reporting, and establish trusted, consistently defined enterprise metrics.
  • Lead adoption of new technologies and ways of working, building stakeholder alignment so new capabilities translate into sustained improvements in decision-making.
  • Lead top-tier talent, with a focus on building and improving a team and culture that can employ best-in-class practices to support and drive high levels of internal and external customer satisfaction. Hire, develop, coach, lead, and retain top-tier talent.
  • Complete all responsibilities as outlined in the annual performance review and/or goal setting.
  • Complete all special projects and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, Analytics, Data Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field required; advanced degree or relevant professional certification preferred.
  • 12-15+ years of progressive experience across Finance, FP&A, data and analytics, business intelligence, technology, or transformation, including significant leadership experience in a complex, multi-business-unit enterprise.
  • Strong financial and business acumen, including a demonstrated understanding of FP&A, forecasting, planning, financial statements, and performance management.
  • Demonstrated success leading data, analytics, technology, or digital transformation, including the ability to simplify processes and create scalable approaches that improve productivity.
  • Proven experience building, developing, and leading high-performing teams across analytical, financial, technical, and business disciplines.
  • Strong understanding of modern data and analytics environments, including data architecture, governance, integration, business intelligence, and self-service analytics, with significant experience in visualization platforms such as Microsoft Power BI.
  • Experience with CRM platforms such as Microsoft Dynamics 365 and/or Salesforce, and with integrating commercial information with financial and operational data.
  • Experience with enterprise planning, forecasting, ERP, data warehouse/lakehouse, or automation platforms, and a strong understanding of AI and advanced analytics with practical business applications.
  • Ability to partner with data architects, engineers, and technology leaders and translate technical concepts into financial and business outcomes.
  • Exceptional communication and executive presence, with the ability to synthesize complex information into clear insights and recommendations for senior executives.

  • Strong analytical reasoning, systems thinking, and judgment, including the ability to structure and solve complex problems where information may be incomplete or ambiguous.
  • Ability to connect operational and commercial activity to financial outcomes and identify the business drivers most relevant to enterprise performance.
  • Ability to move effectively between strategic and detailed thinking, and to translate between financial, business, analytical, and technical concepts for business, Finance, technical, and executive audiences.
  • Ability to evaluate competing priorities and alternatives and exercise sound judgment based on business value, scalability, risk, and strategic importance.
  • Ability to lead through organizational and technological change, manage multiple complex initiatives, and build alignment among stakeholders with differing priorities.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to data integrity, sound judgment with confidential information, and intellectual curiosity toward emerging technologies such as AI and automation.
  • Applying established protocols in a timely manner.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

  • Must be able to provide high-speed internet access/connectivity and office setup and maintenance.
  • Must be able to provide a dedicated, secure work area.
  • Remaining in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods.
  • Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.

 

Base compensation ranges from $220,000 to $275,000 per year. Specific offers are determined by various factors, such as experience, education, skills, certifications, and other business needs. This role is eligible for discretionary bonus consideration.
