Technical Architect (Oracle EBS)
Team: Data & AI
Location: Remote (EST timezone)
Commitment: Contract
Workplace Type: remote

The posted compensation range is provided as an annualized equivalent for pay transparency purposes. Final compensation will likely be structured as an hourly rate or other contract-based arrangement and will be determined based on factors including experience, skills, qualifications, scope of work, engagement type, market conditions, and business needs.
Currently, this role will most likely be as an hourly contractor. We are also unable to provide sponsorship for this role.
CompassX is partnering with an enterprise client to support a fast-moving AI-driven initiative connecting their Oracle E-Business Suite environment to a broader integration and applications ecosystem. This is a chance to work at the architecture and development level on a genuinely complex problem for an organization thats investing seriously in modernizing how its core ERP talks to the rest of its new applications and technology stack.
What Youll Do
- Design and build a common data-services layer that connects multiple, differently configured Oracle EBS instances across regions - reconciling real differences between environments rather than treating them as identical
- Expose EBS data through integrations and APIs to other systems, with a particular focus on Manufacturing, Inventory, and Item Master data
- Work hands-on with PL/SQL, EBS Open Interfaces, and standard APIs - this is a build role, not a configuration role
- Partner directly with other developers and technical stakeholders as a peer - youll be the one they come to with questions about the SQL and architecture, not someone translating between business and engineering
- Bring an architects perspective to the work: looking across distinct systems, spotting where approaches diverge, and designing a solution that holds up across all of them rather than solving for just one environment
- Act as a trusted technical voice in a still-evolving initiative — this program is actively taking shape, and theres real room to help define how the work gets scoped and delivered, not just execute against a fixed spec
What Youll Bring
- Strong experience working as a true consultant to your stakeholders and clients
- Deep, hands-on Oracle EBS technical development experience - strong PL/SQL, EBS Open Interfaces and standard APIs, and concurrent program load mechanisms
- Experience with Oracle Integration Cloud (OIC) and/or SOA, plus REST/SOAP web services
- Working knowledge of EBS data models for Manufacturing/BOM, Inventory, and Item Master — direct experience with the Item/PTM table is especially valuable
- Experience working across multiple EBS instances, ideally having reconciled differently-configured environments
- A technical/integration mindset over a functional/configuration one - comfortable going deep on code and architecture, not just gathering requirements
- Comfort operating with some ambiguity - this is an early-stage initiative, and part of the value you bring is helping shape the approach alongside the team, not just following one thats already fully defined
- Bonus if familiarity with Oracle PD Cloud (Oracle PLM)
