Derivative Sales Analyst

Department: Institutional Sales, Trading, and Prime Services

As a Derivative Sales Analyst on the Institutional team, youll own and grow relationships with Coinbases top VIP derivatives traders, driving volume across futures, options, and perpetuals. Youll source new high-value traders from competitor venues, re-engage dormant accounts, and bring structured market and client insights back to Product, Risk, and Marketing to shape Coinbase Advanced trading offerings.

What youll do:

• Own and grow relationships with top VIP derivatives traders on Coinbase, driving increased trading volume, deepening engagement, and expanding adoption of advanced trading products.
• Source and convert new high-value derivatives traders from competitor venues through targeted outbound campaigns, market positioning, and relationship-building.
• Monitor derivatives market structure, client flows, and competitor offerings to identify upsell opportunities, inform pricing and product feedback, and deliver structured insights to Product, Risk, and Marketing.
• Maintain an accurate pipeline and forecast for your book, reporting on key KPIs (volume, active traders, winbacks, competitor migration) and documenting client interactions through CRM tooling.
• Reactivate previously dormant top traders using data-driven tools and bespoke incentives to restore sustained volume.
• Build and refine AI-powered workflows for pipeline prioritization, client segmentation, and outreach personalization to scale coverage across your book.

Required Skills and Experience:

• 2+ years of sales or business development experience in financial services, trading, or crypto, with a track record of hitting or exceeding revenue and volume targets.
• Demonstrated fluency in derivatives products (futures, options, perps) in traditional finance or crypto markets, evidenced by prior trading desk, brokerage, or exchange experience.
• Data-driven operating style with experience using dashboards, CRMs, and basic analytics to segment books, identify opportunities, and prioritize outreach.
• Background in business, finance, economics, or a related quantitative field, or equivalent practical experience working directly with trading clients.
• Pre-existing network of active institutional derivatives traders you can bring to the platform on day one is preferred.
• Utilizes generative AI responsibly, maintaining human oversight to deliver business-ready outputs and drive measurable improvements in workflow efficiency, cost, and quality.
