Purpose
Assist in the processing of in-house payroll and handling related activities for the Company.
Responsibilities
Leadership and Direction
Receive broad guidance relating to overall key objectives, critical issues, new concepts, and policy matters and general parameters for execution. Receive direction as needed, and especially on highly complex assignments.
Independently apply extensive and diversified knowledge of principles and practices in broad areas of assignments and related fields.
Review work produced by staff for quality assurance.
At the Operational and Company Level
Assist with processing and reconciling payroll biweekly.
Ensure submission of timesheets.
Create basic ad-hoc reports on earnings, taxes, and deductions as required by management.
Do the Work
Process certified payroll and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local prevailing wage requirements.
Prepare and issue paychecks.
Calculate and audit timesheets and make corrections as necessary.
Process labor adjustments.
Establish and maintain payroll files in accordance with audit requirements.
Maintain records of leave and nontaxable wages.
Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll matters.
Research payroll tax issues and manage tax applications.
Process new hires, terminations, manual/out of cycle checks, bonuses, salary adjustments, garnishments, and new hire state reporting.

Respond to audit requests and provide requested documentation.

Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in related discipline preferred.
- Five or more (5+) years of experience handling computerized, multi-state payroll administration (preferably in-house) and knowledge of payroll laws and regulations in multi-state environment, including prevailing wage.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Intermediate to advanced Excel Skills (reporting, data analysis, data manipulation, pivot tables, etc.).
- Strong computer skills, including familiarity of imports/exports.
- Knowledge of Deltek Vantagepoint preferred.

Salary and eligible variable compensation (if any) commensurate with experience. Range $70,000-$90,000 and includes a comprehensive benefits package.
