Business Performance Analyst

Location: Detroit, MI, United States; Hybrid

Department Preferences

• 3–5 years of healthcare experience
• 1–2 years of experience creating and distributing reports
• Demonstrated ability to interpret data and recommend an appropriate course of action
• 1–2 years of experience with Risk Adjustment programs

Responsible for identifying, collecting, analyzing, and maintaining data to evaluate issues that affect profitability, growth, and productivity of corporate initiatives. Coordinate projects for senior management.

• Develop, design, and administer methods and procedures to assess operational effectiveness of organization. 
• Identify, analyze, and monitor issues/trends that affect profitability, growth and productivity to assist in developing long term goals and strategic objectives. 
• Maintain knowledge of fields concepts, practices, and procedures. 
• Coordinate, direct and monitor assigned projects and ensure an efficient and qualitative operation through effective planning, controlling and organizing.  
• Communicate findings to management via reports and presentation materials. 
• Recommend and implement financial and non-financial strategic solutions to ensure corporate goals are achieved. 
• Provide expertise and guidance to other employees as required.  
• Knowledge and experience in data collection, designing, analysis and report development.
• Prepare reports and presentation materials for Performance Office and senior management meetings.
• Prepare, coordinate, and facilitate meetings with key stakeholders throughout the planning cycle.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s Degree required.
• Four (4) or more years of experience in a related field required.
• Two (2) years of BCBSM work experience to ensure full knowledge of business systems required.
• Project Management experience preferred.
• Knowledge of competitors, techniques and methodologies required in related field.
• Knowledge and use of existing software packages (PowerPoint, Excel, Microsoft Word).
• Strong analytical, communication, organizational and creative problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently within a team environment.
• Ability to effectively interface and communicate with employees at all levels.
• Understand and apply basic financial analysis and modeling.
• Ability to gather and analyze data and create visualizations.
• Knowledge of key business metrics (i.e. financial results, membership, HMO market, etc.)  
• Ability to create engaging presentations - Ability to communicate and maintain effective relationships across the enterprise. 
• Ability to adapt quickly to changes in business needs and priorities
